All good, except that you dont need an exemption to burn up to 10 tonnes per day, only more than that. Exemption is obtained through Environment Agency, but has to be applied for by landowner rather than contractor.

I may be there, expecting a baby on the 21st, so its going to be a last minute decision. One of my customers will probably have his truck with tipper fitted there so if you want to have a look at one in the flesh that should be possible. Not done a D22 unit yet, but I have all the measurements ready.

Hmmm, have to look into that. It's my site rather than arbtalk. There are pics on the Pro Tipper Facebook page if you want to have a look at some of the units I have built. Prices start from £1800 plus vat for the base model, then there are a few different options for chip boxes.

Not as such, but I can put one on a pallet and send it anywhere in Europe for DIY fitting.

I run this for my tree business, and also build them to order. I have found it really useful, it is small capacity (about 2 cubic metres), but it can get to a lot of places a transit type vehicle won't. A lot of my tip sites are farm yards or stable yards and very muddy in winter, so 4wd is a must really. I did upgrade the leaf springs on my truck which improved the load handling immensely.

I'm talking about lengthening the lanyard rather than pulling slack through to shorten it.

Put 6mm line in the art, guarantee it will pull through no bother.

Works very well with 10mm, but doesnt grab reliably like it does with 11mm. It is nice to be able to pull line through one handed though, can only do that with 10mm or smaller.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree there Matt, consent should be granted or denied based on whether the work is appropriate and justified, not whether the contractor making the application is chummy with the TO. As for "tipping off", that is the height of unprofessional behaviour. Imagine if you went to a architect to discuss plans for a listed building, and then found out they had gone behind your back to the planning department. Imagine any other professional (solicitor, doctor, etc) behaving in that way, they would be struck off. No wonder we can't get taken seriously as an industry. My loyalty is to the client, the TO's job is to protect the tree.

Have you thought about one of the bigger csf/avant loaders? Not too sure on the max lift though, 2 tonne might be pushing it. -
I just booked the assessments for 40/41 without any additional training.

If its patches or tufts of dead in an otherwise healthy crown then its most likely squirrels, a quick climb and look for bark gnawing damage will tell you for sure.

Suitable yard, and keep drivers hours records. Not a big deal really.

Total minefield. Short answer is you can do anything you like, and you will never have a problem unless you get stopped. Then its down to whether you can give an explanation that satisfies whoever has stopped you, VOSA in particular tend to take a dim view of rule bending (as they see it).

I think red liquorice boot laces would make a great sling, I am happy to splice up and destruction test said sling if someone will supply the raw materials.
