  1. The price will vary depending on the species diameter and quality. Whether it includes delivery or not depends on whether you need it delivered or not. The cost of the haulage will vary depending on the distance, so cheap timber a long way away will probably cost more than more expensive stuff closer to you.
  2. There is always someone cheaper wherever you are, the secret is to get clients who don't pick the cheapest quote.
  3. I did suggest they plant a new tree ASAP. Not sure if they will stretch to picus, but I have asked someone better qualified than me to take a look at it. Even the best photos don't give as good a picture as seeing it in the flesh.
  4. Reduction is what I recommended. Doing nothing isn't an option given the targets methinks.
  5. Crown is healthy, tree is in a lawn in a back garden. Slight lean toward neighbours property. Client has only been in property a few weeks. I suspect the lawn installation involved lowering the soil level around the tree and caused root damage. Bark sounds a bit flaky around the brackets but looks healthy everywhere else.
  6. Both really, tree is tpo'd and client is keen to retain as long as possible however there are some high risk targets.
  7. Sounds like Owen to me.
  8. Is that course up here or down London? Looks like they could use a decent tree firm, with dangerous trees like that all over the place.
  9. You can uprate the hilux to a higher gvw, heavy duty springs all round and a few forms to fill in.
  10. The little chinese made quad bike trailers are surprisingly good, mesh floor and low sides, very light weight and cheap as chips.
  11. Always been happy with the 066/660s I have used over the years, they are a bit slow in stock form but a bit of muffler work opens them right up.
  12. Very much so, nice full canopy, bit of a lean towards a neighbour and possible root damage due to regrading of lawn though.
  13. Thoughts anyone?
  14. And long in the tooth? They were discontinued in 2006 if my memory serves me correctly.
  15. Stretch airs used to all be red or blue, that was before they had a redesign, new colour and a new uk distributor.
  16. Sounds like you need a little van, Bipper, Caddy, or similar. There are loads of them to choose from, they are dirt cheap, comfy, economical and plenty of room for tools and and bulk bag of rakings.
  17. Nothing is changing in 2014 Paul, the regs are already in force. The only difference is that existing drivers grandfather rights will expire and we will all come into the same rolling 35 hours over 5 years system as new drivers.

    Milk it

The farmers in the direct supply chain are ok in general, it's the ones who supply a processor who supply a supermarket which are struggling, as I understand it.
  19. Iv got a black diamond haul bag, good but not cheap.
  20. Hmm, might be a bit far to come then. Anglesey is crammed with tree surgeons though, shouldn't be too hard to find some chip.
  21. Nope, you can write the numbers on a fag packet and stick it on, no need to to buy a plate. Down plating doesn't involve any physical modification, downrating does.
  22. Where abouts are you facecord?
  23. This is the perfect thread for you then, no mogs here!
  24. I think you're just reading the wrong posts Nick. There is a thread raving about the vega harness if you need some warm fluffy feelings.
  25. I will discount for leaving logs, chip, or brash on site. Of course if they want all the wood cutting up thats an extra cost.
