  1. Samson are the clearest instructions, pdfs or buy the little spiral bound book. If something in the book doesnt make sense, there are some very good youtube vids that will help to visualise it.
  2. Indeed. I get lots of emails asking for woodchip, if its convenient to me I will drop it off without charge, but if someone wants a specific amount in a specific place at a specific time then its going to cost something as I am supplying a service. If I get an email in the same tone as the OP, it gets deleted straight away, I don't do favours for rude people.
  3. I would say limit him to juggling 2 burning chainsaws at first, until he has got the hang of it. FWIW I was using hedgecutters, strimmers, mowers, and tractors from the age of 12, and I still have all my limbs.
  4. I do remember when Brits were generous enough to offer something in exchange for goods or services rather than expecting something for nothing. Happened just yesterday actually, someone rang me asking for woodchip, offered to pay for delivery. Waste product or not, there is still a cost implication to deliver material. If you are happy to collect from site you can have as much as you want. FWIW I have never paid to tip chip, and never will, and I suspect the same goes for most arbs in this country.
  5. Looks like Lime, could it be a cut leaved variety showing reversion?
  6. You can do pretty much the same thing but with the tail of your climbing line on the way down from the tree.
  7. Its probably blocked up with gunge. (fine wood dust mixed with bar oil) Drain the oil tank and run some petrol through. If that doesn't work you will need to strip the saw down and clean the oil pump.
  8. Pakenham. Chipper Doctor Ltd - Authorised Service, Repairs, Genuine Spare Parts for Entec and Timberwolf Chipper and Shredders. Stump Grinders and Garden Machinery Repaired. Highly recommend, ex-Timberwolf factory, really knows his stuff.
  9. Bateson are good sturdy trailers, factory is near Stockport.
  10. Well they are designed to crumple on impact. I know where I would rather be when a crash happens...... In the pub across the road.
  11. I think cedar will split too easily personally.
  12. Contact NPTC for your local assessor pool, book the assessment through them and they will allocate you an assessor. Bear in mind you will need to organise a venue for the assessment with suitable trees.
  13. Oh you can't work from any ladder, they are just for access. If you want to work from it you need a MEWP.
  14. The front leg is adjustable to prevent that problem.
  15. Excellent ladders, very stable. I have the 3.6, although taller would be useful on occasion.
  16. You can just do the assessments, no need to redo the courses if you are already up to scratch.
  17. What about a rerun of the workshop guided tour video?
  18. Not as much as you would with a 8018.
  19. Apparently there is an indoor version of axe throwing, commonly played in public houses with simultaneous consumption of alcoholic beverages. Perhaps you guys should look into it?
  20. There is a hi cap version on the drawing board, not quite ready to go on sale yet but it is in the pipeline.
  21. Cheers Mark, good to meet you too.
  22. Well, the rain has stopped on site, forecast for the rest of today isn't too bad.
  23. Looks like you have a bit of knob canker there Rob!
  24. My mistake. I remember the transformer lorry.
  25. I thought yours was a 19-28 Steve?
