  1. Mog with a loader? I lol at this.
  2. Bedfords recycling in Ramsey heights. Tenner a tip for chip. Need any timber getting off site?
  3. Actually healthy people cost the NHS the most. There was a study published recently that looked at 3 groups, smokers, obese, and normal healthy people. Up to the age of 56 the obese cost the most, but over their whole lifetime the healthy group lived longer and needed expensive care for dementia and generally being old and infirm, whereas the smokers and the obese had all died.
  4. Between £35 and £40 a tonne.
  5. Indeed. What proportion of income tax is spent on unemployment benefits? 9%. What is the single largest proportion of the benefits budget spent on? State pension. The entire benefits budget including pension is a drop in the ocean compared to the national deficit.
  6. Oh dear, what a way to dq!
  7. The real issue is the LA in question doesn't have a TO, it's all handled by the planning dept, and they don't have a clue about tree legislation.
  8. That is not correct. I have been to a&e myself and taken others as a result of work related accidents, it's never come up. The nhs never do anything for insurance companies without getting paid for it.
  9. I'm sure they would find an alternative solution pretty quickly! After all the time I have wasted filling in 1apps for them I don't care if it stays on their system until the sun implodes.
  10. That's the reason I don't want an online system. If I'm out in the sticks and I want to retrieve a quote on my iPhone or iPad and there is no mobile data service then it's useless.
  11. My thoughts exactly, the problem is the LPA has no way of getting it off their planning system since it is impossible to determine an outcome. My view is that is their problem since it isn't an application it shouldn't be in the planning app system in the first place. May well have some fun with this one!
  12. If I submit a notification to fell a tree, and the LPA decide the make a tpo on said tree, do I need to withdraw the notification to finish up the process?
  13. Eddie, you need to buy a bit of software called parallels, it runs a little version of windows on your mac desktop, then you can run any windows software inside it.
  14. Tramadol is the stuff for knee injuries!
  15. In the same boat with Mac, don't really want an online system, looking at Mamut Account Edge, which is very similar to a package I used to use called Business Basics.
  16. Had it done about 3 years ago, you are supposed to have a couple of weeks off to recover but I was back at work within a few days. It can be sore afterwards as the procedure involves hyperextending the knee joint for easy access. The actual incision and surgery is fairly minor, depending on the extent of the injury.
  17. Yard wise, you need enough room to drive the truck in and turn it round without reversing. (Dont ask me why) If the access is on a busy main road or in a residential area you may get objections.
  18. Run a restricted licence for a few years now, not hard to get provided you have a suitable yard and no convictions or bankrupcy/ccjs etc. Keep the paperwork up to date, contract out the maintenance and its very little extra work, especially given the work a bigger truck can do for you.
  19. It will dry a lot quicker in the tunnel than outside, but airflow is the key. If you loosely stacked billets in the tunnel I think they would dry by winter, but its a gamble.
  20. copied from someone on FB: Masters Results: Johan G 1st Beddes 2nd JTurnbull 3rd Giovanni Ugo 4th Stewart Witt 5th (DQ) Anja 1st Veronica 2nd (DQ) Jo Hedger 3rd (DQ)
  21. If you're burning quartersawn timber, you have too much money to burn.
  22. That is correct.
  23. Always found the 3.5 t dailys a bit skittery on the back end when empty, especially when towing a big trailer.
  24. Depends on the truck. Canter would happily tow 3 tonnes all day, transit is rated at 2.2 but only really happy with 1.5 or less IMO.
