  1. Different? Sawn in half I'd say!
  2. Don't even need batteries, they come with a sealed for life lithium ion battery, just needs charging up. (With the supplied lead)
  3. There are a few 10-12 tonners around, Cromwell usually have a few newer ones.
  4. Check out the link Pete, there's a table halfway down which clearly states which license categories are covered. https://www.gov.uk/driver-cpc-exemptions-examples#when-you-dont-need-driver-cpc Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Presumably you're referring to driver cpc? If so then no, dcpc only applies to drivers of vehicles over 3500 kg.
  6. Nice work, very smooth.
  7. This is how you calculate your rates. Work out your overheads for the first year. Add on whatever you want to earn. Divide by the number of days you want to work. That is the amount you need to bring in every day you work.

  9. Better off with an extrusion than folded sheet, the extrusions are a stiffer grade of metal. Channel or box probably best.
  10. Tight.
  11. Class one double braid http://www.samsonrope.com/Documents/Splice%20Instructions/DblBrd_C1_Eye%20Splice_AUG2012_WEB.pdf If you haven't done a double braid before blaze probably isn't the one to start on....
  12. A blakes will work with same diameter hitch cord and rope, vt I find works better with smaller hitch cords. Bit of trial and error within guidelines is the best way really.
  13. Ouch! Glad your all ok.
  14. Most arb double braids are roughly 50/50.
  15. Never done any of that, is it quite a loose construction? Some of the marrow DB sailing ropes are ridiculously easy to splice compared to arb ropes.
  16. What rope is it? If it's double braid 20 minutes is probably a world record!
  17. Can't you float it downstream? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. You can apply for an interim licence, I got up and running within a fortnight.
  19. If you can't make that back with the bigger vehicle it's not worth doing..... I did my own about 5 years ago, it really isn't that hard. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. About £700 for fees, newspaper ad etc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. In three words, yes you do. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Don't forget as a subbie you get to offset your expenses against tax liabilities and only pay a tiny amount of NI. I used to do very well as a subbie, much better off financially than as an employee, and less stress and hours than running a contracting co.
  23. There is a Stephenson tree services in Yorkshire
  24. Only if the climber is prepared to carry the boss around the tree in a basket all day.
  25. Farmi CH260, 10" capacity but will run fine on 85 hp.
