  1. Disc blades are ok, prefer the square quad chip blades though.
  2. I think the Greenmech is the better machine, the other factor to consider is your local dealer, my advice is to get in touch with both of them and see how helpful they are.
  3. You can set them up for diesel only, fuel only, fuel and lubricants only, or anything in the shop. I know which option I'd go for if I gave one to an employee. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Has it got numbers printed on it? If so a quick google search will turnip some prices.

    Ash down?

Get someone who knows about trees to have a walk round the wood and identify any potential problem trees. This will fulfill your duty of care responsibility and is a basic minimum really to help prevent problems in the future. If you want to go a little further get a consultant to carry out an inspection and produce a written record of inspection with management recommendations. Do be aware that either way you may have to carry out remedial works, if any kind if inspection produces a recommendation which you fail to act upon you will be worse off than if you had done nothing.
  6. There was one near me a few years ago, they decided it would take so much water to put it out that it wasn't worth doing, and just let it burn out. Went on for months. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Any use? 97 R REG MAN 18 224 2 IN 1 TAR TANKER AND GRITTER LORRY (NO VAT) | eBay
  8. 2000 SCANIA 94 Diesel in Meriden | Truck Trader
  9. Would they not be on Truck Trader rather than Plant Trader?
  10. That makes sense, so are there tilt cab 811s or are they all ds?
  11. I think the 811s all have bonnets, could have been an 814 or 817. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Punt gunning? Awesome!
  13. Seconded. Most new trucks are auto now, I would go auto for preference personally. Wouldn't put a chip box and a hiab on a 7.5 tonner either, unless your talking about something really small it's going to eat up precious payload. No point trading up from a transit and then overloading the new truck. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Good work, I love crane reductions.
  15. I wouldn't say its worthless, if you can load it into a bulker with a loading shovel and tip it the other end it would be perfect for billets.
  16. I did that and had loads of problems with my email not getting through. Switched to google mail, same address, [email protected], no problems with my email getting through and not much spam either.
  17. Google mail is pretty good, and you can have your own domain name.
  18. That sounds ideal for my intended purpose, got a price? You can pm or email it to [email protected] if you don't want to post it here.
  19. That's really good info, thanks. Reinforces my view that getting a TM firm in is the way to go. The streetworks training is a bit of joke really, I did the supervisors course but it was the same course as the ops, I even did the setting out exercise. they wouldn't give me the ops ticket unless I paid an extra assessment fee, and then tried to tell me that I wasn't qualified to set out, only to supervise someone else setting out........ Most of the TM I do is when we're set up to chip on the road or verge, and put out a simple give and take system on a 30mph road.
  20. Very good question Kevin. On the course I did we only looked at one setup, a 2 way shuttle system with temp lights. I don't own lights and would probably get a TM company in to set that up if I needed it anyway. To answer your question the course is dull because we spent all day covering something I already knew but won't use, and the bits that I did want to learn and asked about the answer was " get the red book and look it up". Tbh I could have bought the book, read it, and saved a day out of work and the course fees, and still learnt more. Very interesting info in post #16 re sector scheme v street works, I have often wondered how you actually learn about TM in depth. Cheers CBB! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Yup, just the green bit with a manual swivel no hydraulic rotator. Do you know how much it weighs and the size of the open grapple? Thanks Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Do you sell the skidding grapple separately? Ideally with a swivel rather than fixed.
  23. I did the C&G unit 10, so supervisors course. All done in a day, extra written exam at the end but otherwise the same course as the other guys in the room who were doing the operatives unit. Classroom in the morning, setting out exercise in a car park, written test and done for 4 o'clock. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. Get a tin of emulsion, spread it thinly over a wall, and watch it closely for 8 hours……
