  1. Dont bother with the chest harness at all, just link the croll to the ring on the bridge, and link the top of the croll to the top handled ascender so it gets towed up the rope when you advance the handled ascender. Just make sure you don't get too much slack between the harness and croll.
  2. I don't ring much stuff up these days! Although 70ccs and a really sharp chain always do the job for any sub 20" material.
  3. Found woodpecker chicks in a tree today, stopped above the nest, and when we left site I observed a parent re-entering the nest site.
  4. Depends how patient you are! I want 70cc for ringing up with a 20 inch bar.
  5. Did you ever get to visit Europes tallest beeches? I quite fancy that, as long as I can climb them!

  9. I don't know, but if you give loler a ring I'm sure they will tell you. Someone on here must have their phone number lol.
  10. Capel manor or writtle are the two within driving distance, although not exactly local.
  11. I thought the yews were planted to make longbows to help keep the French on the right side of the English Channel, and they were planted in church yards as that was the only place grazing animals couldn't get to them.
  12. Can you burn on site? If so raking them into burn piles with an excavator is the way to go.
  13. Wrap the point where you want to cut with a single layer of electrical tape, then cut with a sharp knife. Heat seal with lighter or hot soldering iron.
  14. Just been having a good drool over that, now have serious Palfinger envy.
  15. Do you mean Yale Polydyne? If so the SWL based on a 10:1 safety factor is 680 kg.

  21. If they have acted recklessly or negligently they can be sued regardless of whether they are insured or not.
  22. This issue will never be resolved unless something goes very badly wrong and the whole thing ends up in court. You can agree amongst yourselves whose insurance to claim on beforehand if you want to, but as Andy says its up to the insurance companies to decide who is at fault, just as if you had a car crash.
  23. Nah, I'd be shot if took any precious logs off site!
