Do you think it's a bad thing for our "elected" politicians to be held to account - Liz Truss got 47% of the vote of the tory membership, that's not a lot of support in real terms. If you don't want the scrutiny then perhaps having a shady past where you'll say whatever makes you the most popular person in the room should render you incapable of being an MP.

Who said they should not be scrutinised??
They absolutely should be held to account in regards their performance whilst carrying out the role in question.
Right at the start of me replying to your post and basically lamenting at the current state of things I said the level of scrutiny and tactics involved  are not helping things. You and Dempsey both resorted to trying to be smart arses about minor grammatical errors ( normally a last resort ) and  totally running off at different tangents. Anyway it’s good to see your  university education being put to good use pointing out such things.

"Running off at different tangents" is how meaningful things occur.

I paid for my education myself and got what I deserved.

There are even websites built to catalogue the lies and bullshit from this guy. There's nothing even remotely similar on May, Cameron, Major or Thatcher. That's why they didn't get the intensity of media attention that he deservedly gets. All that lying and dishonesty ought to be held to account. He's not "like any other politician". I don't think I'm out on a limb by wanting a degree of integrity in those that are meant to lead and serve us.

Well I’m pretty sure I’ve heard those phrases in the not too distant past, “ flatten the curve, mandatory etc etc  “ . Create a problem then come up with a solution for the masses. VDL 🙄right up there with the elites whom ( hopefully English teacher Dempsey approves ) you can be pretty damn sure won’t have her curve or bank balance flattened. Wonder what will be next 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️restrict farmers in the EU from producing food, nah that would be tin hat stuff surely !!.
Starting to look very much like old Trump was bang on the mark when he warned ze Germans that they were making a mistake relying so heavily on Russia, I do recall him being mocked for saying this at the time.

These websites simply reveal how much the "intelligentsie" of the left/socialist/markist/leninist types hated Boris, cos being smart and using those smarts to mislead folks is their particular gig.

How very dare he!

I am already seeing evidence of these belittling campaigns against the new PM et. al.

Well I guess thats one way you could look at it. I was deliberately trying not to frame it as a Left versus Right debate. It's not in my mind. It's about honour and decency in our "leaders" and politicians, rather than whatever it is that yer man values.
