Educating some customers how to light a fire?

Customers might be a pain but when the bumpy who can't light a fire is your wife its a very different story haha. She's there now thank god

Some times, if you didn't laugh, you would cry with some of the crazy things customers say

One day if a certain type of customer asks me, " what type of wood is it ",

I am going to say "firewood":biggrin:!!!

Can I order one bulk bag of logs, 12 bags of kindling and 10 packs of firelighters.

 

One month on, same order.......

 

All these years I have been doing it wrong!

 

Your meant to relight the fire after every log!!!

The easiest way to start a fire is a slop of diesel, just a slop and don't spill any else it smells. No kinderling no firefighters no faff. Instant heat.

Is anyone else of the opinion that some of your customers need educating on how to light a fire or woodbuner.I Have one or two that say the wood I deliver does not burn very well ,yet when I test burn some myself there is no problem with it. I am sure a lot of people put a couple of firelighters in the fireplace/woodburner,and then put too big a logs on before their is any heat or as I say bottom in the fire, instead of using kindling wood as well followed by small split logs, THEN the bigger logs when the heat is there.

 

 

Yep. Most people under 35 have little experience with fire.

 

I had one lady plonk a 6 inch square bit of Oak onto the kindling EMBERS !!, then complained the stove would not work.

 

I now issue chapter and verse in writing with all new stoves, still I get complaints that my stove wont burn their 50% MC wood.

My missus uses half a packet of firelighters every time she lights the fire.

Even then it's 50:50 if it will catch.

i recommend stating that humans have mastered fire for hundreds of thousands of years... if you can't work it out ask your ancestors.
