I bought this last year in Sweden, just overhauled the carb and given it a general  birthday.

Off to the other side of the country tomorrow.  It's kind of fun to ride an old bike now and again, similar probably to enjoying the affections of an older lady.

How tough is that bike! Check out the moose count and not a scratch on it.

Cbr600 2002. Got her at 27k miles and commuted all weathers until 2020 covid, she died a week before covid hit the UK at 125k miles. The timing chain jumped, easily fixed but while furlough I tarted her up, angood service mechanically but never reassembled. ULEZ makes it pointless...

Don't be so sure about that, the one in my shed is a 2000  model and owner had it from new, it now has 128k on the clock and last year went for a special MOT that proved even with carbs its emissions are below the level necessary for ULEZ and now has the paperwork to prove it. He recently siffered a heart attack so I begin to wonder if he will ride again. I found it a bit buzzy and lacking low down torque compared with my MT07, too much gear changing even though 25% more powerful.

Cbr250RR MC22, 1992 or something. Carbs are a pain, it ran ok, amazing revvy fun engine, but never ran perfectly and hesitated at the top end. Not been on the road for a while, the tank is now black.

I inherited a 2012 CBR250R from my brother, it is my shopping bike and I do less than 1k miles a year with it, nice and light and good fun, makes my wrists ache below 50MPH.

Fabulous little things. Way cooler than a grom. I convinced a girlfriend to buy one. She ditched me and kept riding the bike (until it was stolen).

Did 650km over two days through the mountains. Had alot of fun on the old girl, you have to whip it along but the big single has plenty of torque low down.

Blew past a squadron of German " GS vankers" on a downhill before a tunnel,I can't see the fun in riding a bike with that much luggage on it?

Had the 750 version for a long time Mike, great bike and had a blast taking the Fred Olsen ferry from Newcastle to Oslo years ago and onwards to Finland. No strings or commitments then 👍😂
Peterhansel nailing  the works 900 version at the old Paris Dakar was an awesome sight.

Well we shall see in the long run if it’s a wise move. Just purchased a 2023 KX450X to play on when home( Something to amuse me other than my hobby Trakmet @5thelement)  Not back for a while yet but looking forward to getting some hours in. I’m under no illusions the mind might be willing but the body certainly will be complaining.
Certainly nothing like the bike fitness and balls of years ago,
86CR500 at Stranraer beach race late 80s flat out on the beach straight was an adrenaline hit big time.

when I had my first bike, a standard well worn 250 Royal Enfield I dreamed of one day owning a bike that did "the ton" as life moved on and that was achieved I had no idea that before I gave up bikes completely I would double that magical figure.

I speak occasionally with an old deerstalker friend, with a military background and  now approaching 90 years old, tells me there comes a time when the killing stops, you grassed enough deer, the quest for speed dwindles, and you cant predict  when it happens, but it surely does, but until that moment,,, give it hell.:thumbup1:
