Following extensive research on the topic of, ahem, non-prescription psilocybin therapy, during my teens and twenties, I can confirm that when used responsibly, mushrooms are an incredible tool for sorting your head out.

They aren't called psychedelic for no reason.

Plucking a number out of my arse here, but I'd say 95% of people, and consequently the world around them, would benefit from a few guided shroom trips. The final 5%... not so much.

Sorry to hear Eggs.  Never had it myself thank goodness but seen it in others and the effects are obvious.

I can only suggest as some of the above which are known to work often though probably not always: hard exercise definitely as it releases endorphins which are feelgood chemicals produced by your body.

As an aside to that I used to run non-competitively but still pretty hard - 8 miles in 45-50 minutes for example. After cooling down and having a shower I felt on top of the world; my mind was buzzing in a good way and my body felt purged - refreshed.

Diet also is a factor:  alcohol; yeurgh!

I can't say I know how you feel but I think you're going to have to take a deep breath and say **** it; I'm going dry for a bit, avoiding processed crap food and doing some hard exercise.  Doesn't need to be running; anything that makes you sweat hard and leaves you puffing will do.

Good step btw opening up about it; that has to help.

All the best to you; it can't be nice

Sorry to hear this eggs. I thought something might be up going on your recent posts. Have you got someone to talk to? I don't necessarily mean a professional.  A mate, someone you trust, that will listen.  They won't have the answers, but it will help you to find the answers and work your way through it.

You say there's no specific reason for your depression.  The worst kind, because hardest to address.

Talk to someone if you can mate. You may be surprised at what comes out of it.

I'd say the percentages might not be quite so absoloute.

And listen to your gut. If your gut says they're not for you, then are NOT FOR YOU. Seriously.

ANDYSMANCLUB.CO.UK

ANDYSMANCLUB are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the...

We had a guy from this group come into work to give us a talk recently. They sound like the business; free, down-to-earth, no pressure, no money, no pretense, just talking about any  shit, if you want to. Just a load of blokes meeting up once a week I think, to chew the fat. Not sure where you are but they have various groups all over the country, more in the north and Midlands.

Other than that; pills initially to get it in check, and then hard exercise, good diet, social contact, green spaces, blah blah blah.

Good luck.

Well, I’m trying to eat, and I really don’t need to hear about how you harvest your mushrooms.

Get out and about. Talk to people even though you feel you don't want to.

Two suicides in my local area last month, both 25. Men need to talk more. This is a good step.

I ended up having to go to a funeral not long ago for a lad who was maybe 28 ish, left a little lad behind. Madness. Belting chap the guy was

I think a lot of everything is who you surround yourself with....

I can't be doing with negative folk, the doom and gloomers... it rubs off on you.  Surround yourself with nice folk. People who get up off their arse and go do stuff. Go getters.

I gave up going to pubs etc folk just doing the same old week in week out. Winging about boring shit

If you never change owt nowt changes
