Also in the defense of Pollards; some of the oldest trees around are pollards.

...and that's because they often served a purpose here as a long lived boundary marker.

Those neat french trees would predate the village, part of Napoleon and having shade for the troops along roads.

Whilst maybe somewhat over romanticised especially in certain parts of france, Napoleon wanted his marching troops under the shade of trees.

not scary just plain ugly.

and Mick with "Pollards can be pleasing to look at." yeah sure but only with your eyes closed. or if youre mad. or its dark.

Iirc, you’re the bloke who suggested driving round in full PPE listening for chainsaws, then sit on your car bonnet at a short distance, waiting to be approached.

You come across as a genuine idiot.

and you come across like a stalker

a blind mad one who likes pollards

i spoke to someone at a show got a job doing what i said, its where the idea came from.

he sent out emails, made enquiries, got bored, went out and found one of the tree firms he wrote to and sat there waiting for brew time.

they took him on. said they were impressed with his attitude.

pollards are ugly as shit on stick and not particularly good practice. i suppose urine favour of lopping and topping as well are you?

I think i can speak for Mick when i say he's absolutely in favour of a good topping when the client pays, as are most of us.

I feel thicker for participating in this with you, but I've had a beer so I'll forgive myself.
