This old dead standing oak fell in the woods last year, taken most of the fire wood off.been dead at least 20 years Trying to decide wether to mill the rest of just log it. Just under 3ft diameter. Probably 4m left. Looks like a fair amount of insect attack to the heart. Will bring a digger down at some point and move the root ball. That will tell v what the bottoms like. Got a very nice 5ft diameter oak that fell also to mill so not short of fallen oak at home.

Any one milled any oak this far gone? Any one any thoughts?

Think I will try to make tabke from roots one day. 20211029_153108.jpeg20211029_153103.jpeg20211029_153049.jpeg20211029_153044.jpeg20211029_153228.jpeg
