Anyone use a "safety razor"?

I have switched to a cut throat, uses half a razor blade in the holder and I get half a dozen shaves per half blade - bargain........

 

 

I've bought one of them as well, a shavette, recommended on a thread on here.

I haven't dared use it yet, like.

My girlfriend bought me an old style "grandad razor" which uses the double sided blades. It's fantastic, love it so much.

Its not something to rush, but it is not too difficult you just need to stretch the skin tight and lube well :blushing:

I use a double edged safety razor too, with Feather blades. Very satisfying, a closer, better shave and much cheaper. More of a shaving experience! Does take a bit more time, but I'm bearded anyway, so don't shave too frequently.

I've just swapped over to disposable razors. Got fed up of getting ripped off for fusion cartridges. Now buy disposables for the equivalent of 10 bob a piece, work just as well and last just as long.

I agree with all of this especially the fact that double edge blades are so much cheaper than cartridges.

I just bought 100 Gillette blades for £9 delivered off ebay.

I can probably get about 4 shaves out of one blade.

 

A good starter razor would be the Edwin Jagger DE89
