Dogging in is getting birds back into your cover strip using a spaniel usually ( but not exclusively ) some time before you do the drive . In a nutshell cover strips should be on higher ground ( unless they are going to be blanked into higher ground before the drive comences ) Pens should be the oposite ground to the cover strips . ( birds will usually fly from cover back to the reliece pen they were reared in ) . Feeding can be by hoppers or you can hand feed by whistleing the bird and feeding on a straw ride . You want the feeders in the cover strips . This is very baisic . There are other subtlties .

petroleum coke is tempting and some smaller suppliers do sell it by the ton(around 400 euros) but the quality is debateable as is sulphur content... It's not the same as from big suppliers who actually make it in their own refinery like Rompetrol... Although at 8.7 to 9.8 Kwh per kg ,its more than enough for a small stove π See for yourself Packaging is 13kg or 20 kg bags. Burn time (their statement/word) 10-12 hours... Better than coal briquettes, nevermind oak or wood briquettes...

I didn't ask tonight, just got a beer in any glass as it was so busy! I'm not a glass snob but would accept a new glass if that is what they have to use!

Ridgeline smock is designed for hunters and fishers. Brilliant! Anything designed for Arb is poor quality and very expensive. -

Building on the success of its popular SG-40 series, Bandit has introduced the new SG-40H hydraulic-driven stump grinder, designed to reduce maintenance and boost efficiency for tree-care professionals across the UK. The SG-40H features a side-mounted hydraulic cutter wheel drive, eliminating the need for periodic belt maintenance while providing consistent grinding torque. Its 47-inch cutter wheel swing can be fitted with either 16 Greenteeth Bandit or 24 Hex Teeth New Revolution wheels. Powered by a 40hp Vanguard EFI petrol engine and equipped with a heavy-duty track drive system, the machine delivers superior mobility across soft or challenging terrain. Additional features include electric cutter wheel engagement, generous fuel and hydraulic capacity for extended operation, a three-position pivoting control panel, and intuitive joystick operation for maximum visibility and precision. Compact dimensions make the SG-40H ideal for tight or confined work sites. Edward Baker, Managing Director at Global Machinery Solutions, commented: βThese enhancements make the SG-40H faster, safer, and more productive, meeting the needs of professional tree-care, landscaping, and grounds maintenance operations. βThe SG-40H takes everything operators love about the SG-40 β power, reliability, and intuitive controls β and enhances it with a hydraulic cutter wheel drive. This reduces maintenance and increases efficiency. βItβs a real game-changer for UK tree-care and landscaping professionals, and weβre proud to be the exclusive UK dealer for this innovative machine.β

I called Sailor off a deer chase this morning. At distance, at speed, well committed. IN FRONT OF A WITNESS! What a result. The scene on a different, more atmospheric day. Itβs remarkably nice now.

Its an interesting conundrum. Id say in the UK, fear of theft etc would deter companies from prominent 'yards'. Everywhere I worked when in the UK was hidden in an industrial area, or down a farm track, never outward facing signage. Here in Canada, theft is not an issue, but you never see big roadside advertising for tree firms, I do wonder if it would be helpfull though, put the company name in peoples heads. Truck signage however is very effective in my mind. I wouldnt know how France differs, Id be tempted to give it a go for a year maybe 2 and see, its only a lock up, not hard to move into and out of.
