Housing shortage, so what’s going on here then?

Good idea that. -
So two pipes to bulb, the saw should still work if you clamp shut the pipe from the carb to the bulb

Can someone please help me ID this piece of crust which I found on a Ash tree roughly 4 meters up on the stem. Many thanks

@Mark_Skyland if I can ask a pedantic question, is it a clutched saw? I assume the sprocket/drum part was for the inboard brake band, but has no clutch and is directly driven by the motor with a splined shaft? Thanks

Mostly slick, few things I’m not a fan of though, particularly the bottom nav bar on mobile which holds everything that’s in the top nav bar, seems a waste of space to me. I’d also consider removing the search bar and swapping for an icon next to the other icons in the mobile header which would half the amount of space the header takes up

We are due a Sherpa 100 Small and we think it’s going to be just to tall by 2 inches or so to transport in our transit connect LWB . May be able to let the tyres down a bit to allow 🤣 then re pump! Options are ramps for a transit tipper mark 8. Is there any recommendations for ramps that can take the almost 650kg limit? Folding ramps or normal. Appreciate any advice. Photos or videos of loading can help for ideas. Thanks limited space unfortunately no room for trailer!

As previously suggested clean out the gearbox and re grease, check that the blades aren't sticking or binding i.e. build up of resin or bent teeth catching on each other. Check that the bearings in the gearbox are OK I've replaced quite a few as they can rust up. Also check underneath the washers that hold the blades together as you can get a build up of crap which restricts the movement of the blades. The gearbox needs to move really easily.

Aye. Free him every time I check his water. Ties himself straight back up, which in fairness is preferable to him going under the telehandler. He is fortunately scared of the big yellow thing. Not remotely scared of saws though, which he investigates tip first, nose first. He tried felling a fairly senior lady with said tether the other day. Estate agent who liked dogs and was happy for me to leave him in the garden with her while I looked round inside. I'd left the long line on him in case any sheep hove into view (that'd be one way to meet the neighbours). She was talking with some other people who turned up to view. He started circling her like the scene in Star Wars where they trip up the massive walking robots. Good lad. Estate agents deserve it, old women or not. So I'm afraid he's not done anything really moronic for a while. Keep you posted. Won't be long.

Option 1 - dice it all up and handball 8 feet up out of the ditch. Option 2 - leave it in big bits and pull it out with the plucky little loader. Went with option 2. Liking this game.

The rigging I do is off the tail of my climb line, but I haven't done anything that that can't be done/free fall Have heard good things about the Yale, Marlow and Teufelberger. DMM do some as well, might be worth a look.

On the 020, the early ones came with a push in white fibre vent, the rubber mushroom sealing the tank, the fibre one acting as a filter. The assembly you show is the later breather with a one way valve which was replaced on the later MS200T models with a two way fuel pipe and tank breather hose. Yours must be an early model with the remains of a fibre filter.

I still have my paper licence. It allows me to drink 5 to 6 pints whilst still at the wheel, murder prostitutes, roll them up in carpet and leave their bodies In approved lay-bys, and demand that all women give me right of way if I’m about my manly business as they are likely just off to the Laundromat or wool shop.

The white underwing and slender look sound right too. Sometimes in hot, humid weather, they might move up higher on the plants. Maybe they’re just resting or looking for fresh leaves? If the nettles aren’t showing damage, maybe they haven’t been feeding there yet

If you’re a tree man, maybe gloves like Marigolds make sense for some tasks - better to protect your hands than get scratched up. But hoovering in them? That’s a bit funny! At the end of the day, comfort and safety win.

In France atm where it was a bit cooler this morning so lots of birdsong about 6.30. So i launched the Merlin app and got the following (in no particular order): Blackbird, Blackcap, Robin, Blue Tit, Wren, Song Thrush, Chaffinch, Greater-spotted Woodpecker, Pigeon, Firecrest,Woodlark, Golden Oriole, Pied Flycatcher, Chiffchaff, Goldfinch, Hawfinch, Short-toed Treecreeper, Crow, Nightingale, Grey Wagtail and Garden Warbler. Pleasantly surprised but have to say I probably only saw 7 or 8 of them !!!!

With TBE at least there’s a vaccination available. Unsure if it’s effectiveness however when I worked in the Black Forest, a ‘red zone’ for tbe everyone I worked with had the jag. Only heard of one fella who got tbe and he was of course unvaccinated… can get the jags through the nhs but have to pay for them. I’ve had Lyme disease twice now and tbf the docs were great at admitting their lack of knowledge around it. Handed them a load of info on it and they were happy to go with my preferences then

Designed for professional use, STIHL has launched the new BRA 500 and BRA 600 battery-operated backpack blowers, with maximum blowing force for clearing large areas. The two new battery-powered machines provide high air speed, with a maximum blowing force of up to 32 (BRA 500) and 35 newtons (BRA 600), available throughout the entire tool’s operating time, making them ideal for removing heavy, wet leaves quickly and efficiently. Users can also regulate the required blowing force by selecting one of the tool’s three levels using its digital control, with an additional boost mode available to achieve the machine’s maximum power. Built to reduce strain over prolonged use, both tools have a comfortable carrying system which distributes the weight of the machine across your shoulders and hips, allowing for maximum comfort. With STIHL’s Noise Reduction System built in, the machine offers reduced noise as well as a tuned sound to make them less intrusive when used in public areas, allowing professional users to work productively at all times of day. As STIHL’s first 72 V professional machines, the BRA 500 and BRA 600 draw energy simultaneously from two powerful AP System batteries. For maximum working time, STIHL’s AP 500 S battery packs are recommended. Complete with an LED display, which details the mode the device is working in and battery charge levels, the tools can also be incorporated into STIHL’s Connected digital fleet management system. The Connected system provides a detailed overview of all relevant machine data and provides the option to reduce the tool’s power remotely via the STIHL Connected app. To facilitate use in the rain, both the BRA 500 and BRA 600 are IPX4-certified To find out more about the STIHL BRA 500 and BRA 600, visit www.stihl.co.uk.
