There is an old saying which indirectly tells about soil fertility. " Gold under gorse Bronze under bracken hunger under heather" so heather grows where the fertility is low, it has a way of locking all the available nitrogen into the plant. Bracken thrives where there is a bit of potassium, I often notice it along one of the trees we left as standing dead when it has fallen down and started to rot. Gorse grows where there is available potassium and Phosphorus and can make its own nitrogen as it is a legume. It's more nuance than that in reality as there are lots of other things that influence but the olf farmers knew a bit.

π€You really want to go there, you can stick the Southport killings in there too. Since 2005, major terror attacks by Islamic extremists in the UK have caused over 100 fatalities . The deadliest incidents were the 2005 London bombings and the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing. Notable attacks by year 2005: 7/7 London bombings Deaths: 52 victims, plus the four bombers. Target: The London public transport system during the morning rush hour. Details: Coordinated suicide attacks struck three London Underground trains and one double-decker bus. The bombers were British citizens inspired by al-Qaeda. 2013: Murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby Deaths: 1 victim. Target: British Army soldier Lee Rigby in Woolwich, London. Details: Two Islamic extremists ran Rigby over with a car before attacking him with a knife. The attackers were sentenced to life in prison. 2017: Westminster attack Deaths: 5 victims, plus the attacker. Target: The area around the Houses of Parliament. Details: An Islamist extremist drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing and stabbing a police officer. It was the first attack to cause multiple fatalities since the 2005 bombings. 2017: Manchester Arena bombing Deaths: 22 victims, plus the assailant. Target: An Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena. Details: An Islamic extremist suicide bomber detonated a nail bomb at the end of the concert. The incident caused more than 1,000 injuries and was the second-deadliest terror attack in the UK since 1970. 2017: London Bridge and Borough Market attack Deaths: 8 victims, plus the three attackers. Target: Pedestrians on London Bridge and patrons in the nearby Borough Market. Details: Three attackers used a van to hit pedestrians before getting out and stabbing people in the market. The perpetrators were shot dead by police. 2017: Finsbury Park attack Deaths: 1 victim, a man who had collapsed before the attack. Target: Muslim worshippers near a mosque in Finsbury Park. Details: A man drove a van into a crowd of people. Though the attacker was motivated by far-right views, the incident was initially listed on a timeline of events that included Islamic extremist attacks. 2019: London Bridge stabbings Deaths: 2 victims, plus the attacker. Target: Members of the public near London Bridge. Details: A man, who had been convicted of a previous terror offense, stabbed several people at an event before being shot dead by police. 2020: Reading stabbings Deaths: 3 victims. Target: People in a park in Reading. Details: A man with a known history of terrorism-related activity attacked people with a knife. What the above would indicate is that the indigenous population of the UK is a far more tolerant and welcoming society than those whom come here and follow that religion of peace we hear so much about and pander too. Whatβs causing the bolts to shear? Should be easily fixed. Itβs not like the hydraulic pump has shit itself in the first week, itβs teething issues. From the way youβre going off on one it doesnβt sound like youβve bought tons of new machines as you claim. This is a minor issue. You should try a Bobcat or Antonio Carrarro if you want issues!

Ring got forced back into the groove about 1/2 mm, I was surprised there was enough depth in the groove for that to happen.

What would you call the basics?

I donβt remember seeing one. Only recall loads of ladybirds, biting and a surfeit of greenflies often getting into the potato salad - couldnβt tell the difference between them and chopped parsley π€£

Stihl released the 500i six years ago. They're the bollocks. Why aren't more saws injected by now?

Did you rate it as a grinder though Josh? Pretty sure thatβs the one Ross White had, and thought it was mentally good, possibly too good for the size/weight. Like an animal 8β chipper that weighed 400kg.

They're pretty simple machines. Mine jammed up the other day when a fork went through it but the overrun clutch on the PTO shaft saved the day. The product is fiddly to burn but you can really fill a stove up and it goes for a long time. It gets choked up on brash but it's a decent way of reducing bulk if you don't have a chipper

Tried a pair of these on in store felt pretty good. Can anyone vouch for their long term comfort, any good with spikes? Any good for hiking as well- I know theyβre stiff and a bit heavy Cheers

A nice bag of ArbSurplus rope ends, most appear to be around 5m. Pair of saw lanyards, decent quality, made in UK.

Cheers for them answers. I hadn't thought about roadsise to be honest Mark, I might get away with that in spring when tree work's quiet. Thanks for the tip about Chainsaw Bars UK too, I get most of my milling kit that way but since Brexit I pay big import duties on it. He's got a load of Manpa stuff too I've seen which might be useful. I would probably be able to justify the expense if I knew I could sell some work off the back of it. Carving more would be a good start. Cheers again for your help, I probably will give you a shout Mark next time I'm over visiting.
