  2. How fckin big was this chicken! Reminds me of the scene in Young guns where they were all off their tits getting high.

  5. Again a generalisation, I have. Second part is not really correct as I have clipped ears of deer with. 22 cf and larger and apart from a splash the holes seem to bleed little after the hit, certainly less than DJT did but I wasn't there, but if I was I would suggest I could have an interesting, or one of a kind, mount on the wall in the lounge.
  6. Perplexed by laughing reactions. Have I been unintentionally funny?

    Makita DUC150

Had another look, these show in stock but always best to phone first. 15 quid cheaper than mine, too! Makita UC029GZ02 40V Max XGT Cordless Brushless 150mm Pruning Saw In Makpac Carry Case | Dvs Power Tools DVSPOWERTOOLS.CO.UK Automatic chain lubrication eXtreme Protection Technology (XPT) is engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh... Maintence day for my other kit, have a few files started but this came with a nice looking file guide, and I've never used one so gave it a try. File is shite, wouldnt cut toffee. A worn Pferd file is massively better than this (Gustharts sell them). Handle, a bit smalll, not very ergonomic. Without heating the file tang I'm not sure how your supposed to fit it as it wouldnt go in very far. The guide, works like it should, but guides are shite and annoying to use. Luckily I dont need them although my right hand, for left hand cutters, needs practise.
  8. Back again. I had done 2hrs30min since 'repairing' the engine. The last stump was on a slope and the machine cut out 3 times so I checked the oil 'Oy Vey, Allah Akbar, Mon Dieu and FFS !' to cover all bases... Oil level low. It took 500ml Ran it up again to finish the last stump but it lacked power and the stump being very fibrous made for a dismal hour or so. Back home, checked the valve clearances and was surprised to find them well out yet the nuts are tight. I've reset the valves, it runs fine but now light but obvious dark smoke when throttle opened. Oil vapour from valve cover is inside the part between carb and air filter. So I think I will change the engine and strip the old one down this Winter and earn my Boy Scouts tinkering badge. Meanwhile, I'd like to replace the engine with an electric start version. I see an option with oil bath filter. Is this worthwhile or even practical on a grinder? Please post your answers either here, or on a postcard to: Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, BBC TV Centre, London W12 8QT
  9. Dumper, Ah, the site at the outfarm is good soil on top of basalt rock, like the well is cut into the living rock, right from ground level down, but our homeplace is on rank moss/ pure peat, with blue/ grey clay beneath. Cheers

    Chickens?

Not just chickens. Arb chickens. Seen here sorting out two bags of rakings. IMG_5870.MOV
  12. I never tried any other saws, didn’t try this 1. I just buy stuff. it’s on a 6t machine. used it today around the yard cutting back some overhang. Just amazing sitting cutting and lifting limbs knowing how much time and effort it saves.
  13. Fungus appeared this year on twin stem sycamore tree. Growing out of top of old cut wound. Given left hand stem on picture is leaning at appropriate 20 degrees at base is this a problem it terms of the tree becoming unsafe. Tree is approximately 25m tall.
  14. same here, a bit easier than vinyl but still an actual thing you own
  15. Very interesting, many thanks everyone. C
  16. Good morning Arbtalkers 😊 Nice sunny start to the day here 😎 Lunch out then the F1 to watch..
  17. 1 note. Solo activated.
  18. If you’re using quality timber why risk using anything form temu with it?

  20. I had a similar case with an old apple tree that looked half-gone after a bad winter. Pruning back the dead wood and giving it a season with mulch, compost tea, and slow-release organic feed really helped bring it back. Also worth checking for root rot or girdling roots. These trees are tougher than they look once stress is managed right.

    Ladders

Google Search WWW.GOOGLE.COM These guys have mastered it.
  22. A center punch, just like this one
  23. I did my first full-fat, name-on-the-door job today. Had a climber in. I bored the life out of him telling him to take it easy, take time, be safe, constantly check himself for tiredness/complacency etc. You know what. I'm going to keep being boring. It's only gardening. Nobody needs to die.
  24. Thanks checked carb and all looks good. Surprised it ran with such low compression.
  25. I like the safety features but a bladed power tool should be respected. If your putting your hands or fingers in a blade with it running, what do you expect to happen? If you rely on the glove, one day you will finish a job, take it off then notice a cut you missed and do it without the glove, and your fingers are gone. When I've let other climbers use my secatuers and told them to respect it, turn it off between cuts or any time they are moving around, only one does. The others thought they knew best, they are accidents waiting to happen, so I wont let them use it any more.
  26. There is no comparison - green climber all day long! Robocut are great machines for the price if you’re mostly doing grass and light bramble day to day however if you want something to do grass, scrub & small diameter saplings it’s the green climber. The green climber are a premium machine and will cost more if they go wrong but the output should far outweigh that.
