  2. Call that a fishing harbour Norway?! And Brixham is tiny in comparison to Newlyn. Cadbury moving to Europe is due to the company being taken over by Kraft and then Mondelez. Both big American/international food and drink companies. They and others like them are responsible for the disastrous food landscape in this country. Nothing to do with EU, or immigrants. Their food is generally far healthier, (and tastier) than ours. I say ours, but what is British food these days? It's KFC, pizza, Subway or any of the other crap pushed out by the likes of Uber or Just Eat. We've lost our traditional fayre, but not due to immigrants. Aspartame, yeah it's the devil's nectar. Ban it henceforth

  11. New harness, Camp Tree Access ST. I like it a lot, theres no silly knotted rope bridge for everything to catch on. I got the wrong size, which has tiny leg loops, but Fletcher Stewart are swapping it to the adult size for me. Excellent service from this shop!
  12. The act of establishing "alternative facts" probably. AKA lies. Just another new word for that old favourite of Tango's. A bit like what he was trying, but failing to do yesterday. It's amazing what passes for statesmanship these days. He has all the gravitas of, err, I don't know .......... A can of Tango! Ramaphosa keeps cool during Trump's choreographed onslaught WWW.BBC.CO.UK The BBC's Gary O'Donoghue analyses how the South African president reacted in an extraordinary Oval Office meeting.

  14. Dragons Den... they don't generally invest on an idea, generally you need to have product produced and sales, many investors are the same. Bank want to be sure they get their cash back. Investors take a risk and so want greater rewards, Can he make small volume sales for now to build up evidence of sales, the product works, customer feed back and a bit of a cash reserve which might help him out with investors or the bank. Obviously we don't know what he is doing, mass producing tooling could be a lot but maybe smaller scale could be done? Even part time to get some sales behind him?
  15. Nearly bought one of the proper waterproof skirts last winter. Probably still should.
  16. We had egg pecking issues before, so for a few days when i removed the eggs I put 3 golf balls in their place. One or two sore beaks later and it stopped! It can be a sign of a lack of nutrition too, so no harm to give them some crushed oyster shells or similar. I really need to get some chickens again soon. A winter of storm damage and pine marten/fox attacks means we haven't had an egg of our own since January. In typical fashion I dismantled the old coop and never got around to building a new one. Shop eggs just don't cut it.

  21. Hi Everyone I'm changing careers into arboriculture and have my CS30 and CS31 tickets. My CS38 course begins 23rd June, and I'll be looking to schedule my CS39 shortly afterwards (all self-funded). As of July I'll be available to start work immediately (at the moment I'm working my notice period at my current employer). I'm looking for opportunities in the North West of England (ideally). I'm based in south Manchester, but have access to a car and wouldn't be against relocating for the right company/opportunity. If you know anybody looking for reliable, hard-working people then feel free to pass my number over to them: 07759558045. Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Ian Taylor

  26. Way more money in being a service engineer! Much less effort too. Are you really ready to start at the bottom of a career again?
  27. The intake valve wiggle at the end of the motion that you describe is actually a good thing, being the compression release motion of the camshaft. I'm dealing with an engine with a broken comp release at the moment. But the lifter or crank could be bent, you wont really know unless you take the sump off. You may have to do this anyway once you are sure the valves are set ok. Its worth spending a fair bit of time to get the valves adjusted properly. The engine turns counter clockwise when looking from above. Use a headtorch to see when the piston is at top dead centre, then go on 1/4 inch. I would get a feeler guage. turn the engine over a few times, then check again. Black smoke sounds like the valve seal issue. But it might clear up on running. You should be able to move the valves in and out a bit by hand, do they all feel the same?
