Yes, motor manual felling was short lived, about 30 years. Like the pony express. I enjoyed doing it though.

Strange, the ferrous stuff that thin are bearing cages, small end cage, circlips and muffler/ baffles. Not sure what else it can be...any helicoils on the top end? I did once get a 346 in that had destroyed three top ends and found the big end cage was the offender. The owner had missed it completely.

Finger amputations are about to become a lot more common from tomorrow! While my chinese ones are great, useful tools, there is no way I'd have them for sale to the general public in a supermarket! Good price but suspect it will be shite. The spec lists a max of 15mm for hardwood where as mine will generally do 30mm+ without much issue. Even so, great for fruit tree pruning.

2 Scots Pines in our local churchyard had been killed by spruce bark beetle. Kind farmer allowed us access for tipping trailer and chipper along headland. All timber shifted through graveyard with Worky Quad. Beer o’clock by 4.30.

This was his second annual check up this year, very much emphasising his heart... but smoke and mirrors... not a lot else. Advanced imaging sounds to me like MRI scanning - not something an average annual check on an 80 years old would do, unless they are looking for something. As for Covid... didn't his health secretary cancel the Covid programmes in the US, not necessary, yet his boss is having the shots...

Seems I have tore the rubber av mount, 14 in this diagram, but its not listed and no part number. Its an old saw, is there any others I should replace at the same time? This assembly includes components... How did it happen? Cutting a big hollow lime stump, about 14" thickness. It had destroyed my 20" chain on the 372 due to hidden dirt and gravel grown into the stump so I stuck a cheapy blunt chain on the 020T and gave it a good sharpen. I may have took down one of the rakers a bit too far as I could feel it once a revolution.

Not at your level at all but occasionally, we used to "mock quarter" a firewood lump to see the grain and teach the youngsters what all it was about, difficult and time consuming on a butt, but still worthwhile. Thanks for the explanation.

Clearing saw blade on a brushcutter ticket

Puwer says you need suitable training for the equipment your using. That's what the HSE would say. Seems clearing saw is getting more popular had a lot of enquiries about it lately. -
I'd use a length of 6mm clear plastic fuel tube. If you make a U with water in the bottom you will probably only see a few mm difference in height if you have the leg to the flue vertical and the leg open to atmosphere at a shallow angle this will accentuate the difference. I have one that was cast out from a university lab [1] but you are a bit far from me. [1] a nice old microscope too -
I put a small electric winch on my tracked tw150. I don't expect much but got the transit stuck the other day, front wheel off a small bridge back wheel of the ground, sounds more dramatic than it was, but the chipper pulled it with the winch no trouble at all! For a £200 it was money well spent!

Its a dragon (?) one i got from Buxtons a while back, but it works, and it ain't dropped me yet. went for a proper climb today, and i likes a lot.
