  7. I was once asked to "assist" in the recovery of goods fitted to a hotel/country club project that had clearly gone south, the bloke responsible had fleeced just about everyone involved in it and I was with the heating installer as he didn't fancy going alone, we had already removed the new boiler that had not been paid for, and moved on to pipework and rads, valves etc, so I'm in one of the rooms and the door bursts open and six feckin' huge guys enter the room with a little attitude, I grab a couple of copper off cuts and hoping to show them my amateur escrima skills asks, "ok, who's first" matey is behind me with an adjustable wrench looking rather nervous. they all look a little taken aback by my willingness for combat,, and the front guy says,," steady mate we're just here to collect the snooker table that hasn't been paid for" I have to admit I was a bit relieved, all day people were turning up to salvage what they could from the work they had done and were never to get paid for, carpets, lighting, tables, various items of furniture. It later transpired the con man who was the culprit in this had done similar previously, and a couple of rather suspect insurance jobs. I expect those that got burned were a bit dubious about starting the next job without at least a sizable deposit for work they were contracted for.
  8. I love how this has gone from weird stuff found in a tree, to looking at cool old gats. keep it up lads!😍
  9. how about a nice patio,,
  10. Exactly, I watched the video and the main point he made (to me) wasn't that there was starvation in Gaza but the point as made above, that 'we' should be do more than take the world news on the back of 1 image or report. Seen it all over where those trying to make political points only point the camera in the 'right' direction (camera - could as easily be the authors pen) while ignoring what is going on behind them. As far as Gaza, Israel is banning the press from recording images, what we see is of course biased but... if all was nice and rosy, nothing to be concerned by the way Israel is conducting its operations then the press would be welcomed in to report their spin on things.
  11. We have tried exporting stuff without a COC in the past. It isn't a goer. The only official way is to fit the chipper onto a trailer with COC.
  12. That's just to turn up on the day and do job, then plus this and that,

  14. everything i bring back to the yard has value. odd length logs, stump cuts and chogs goes for arb waste timber which we are paid for by the artic load. All softwood 2.5m in length and up to 1.2m diameter goes for chip by the artic load. Hardwood cord upto 400mm diameter goes to a couple of firewood dealers, they either buy it by the artic load or i sell smaller loads delivered with tractor and trailer. Oversize hardwoods go to a couple of guys who firewood it for their own use, again sold and delivered by the tractor and trailer. Chip goes out by the artic load. il even mix stump grindings in with older chip to make a nice mulch for people who want it for flower beds which i sell by truck or tractor and trailer loads upto 35 cubic metres. the only thing that doesn’t have value to me is hedge clippings or rake up

  18. Really great to see the arb community rallying behind Andy’s Man Club. Mental health often gets overlooked in physical trades, even though the pressure can be intense. Raising awareness and funds through something so community-driven makes a real difference. I hope more events like this pop up—it’s a reminder we’re stronger when we talk and support each other openly.
  19. I did write a police report but then I thought I needed a strong positive mind and if it did grow back not have any negativity surrounding the tree. No you are right though. If you saw my previous post when it happened I was not that calm about it 👍👍 to say the least. Alls good. I sit next it and have a beer or 2.😁
