  2. Schliesing chassis are galvanised. In my view forst have taken jenson and schliesing’s ideas and combined them , the fly wheel set up seems based around the jenson whilst the feed roller and anvil set up looks like schliesing’s with the two adjustable heavy springs that will crush and grab most things.
  3. Is there one available that doesn't harm the mice? Asking for a friend.
  4. I'm not sure Mouse & Traveller poison will be a good seller!.
  5. Aparently T H Whites are getting into being a big distributor for Jensen, if you’ve got that sort of budget it would be worth getting one from them on demo (if they’re not a million miles away) From my experience a Jensen a540 is pretty comparable to its competitors in terms of what it will chip, but the build quality of the machine is far better. Plus the weight of the flywheel & the anti stress means they don’t smash themselves to pieces-they are more what you would buy if you were going to run the same machine for 10+ years imo. My little Jensen a528t is amazing, and that’ll be replaced with another Jensen when the time comes. + I’m fairly sure Jensen are the only road tow chippers that have a galvanised chassis (on newer models) although someone may correct me on that.

  7. Jensen in my view. Jensen work with one hydraulic motor driving a gearbox with two timed output shafts, one to each feed roller. This way the rollers can have coarse teeth that interlock. All other chippers that I am familiar with have a motor for each roller, and therefore the rollers cannot overlap or the teeth would get damaged. Please correct me anyone, if there are other makes that do it the Jensen way.

  10. I do this on my long bars, opening the hole with a 5mm drill.
  11. Is it Tuckwells ? I bet it's Tuckwells.
  12. Summer has finally arrived. It's currently 21c, sunny and with a fairly decent breeze. I was up on the ski slope earlier working on the MTB trails and it felt quite ridiculously hot. Our forecast going forward is very pleasant:
  13. My public liability package has a clause in it that states we're covered for professional indemnity regardless but only for advice given that is not charged for. Chargeable work IE reports we have to have separate PI for. Can't see why garden services would ever need that sort of PI.
  14. Hey everyone. Had one of my mates over with his Sthil 018 as it wasn’t starting. Sorted that (carb kit) but noticed it was leaking chain from around the sprocket. Took a closer look and the sprocket has worn the plastic away and made a hole through to the oil pump. Is there a fix for this other than replacing the case? What would cause this?
  15. Maybe not Mick, I'm no legal expert so maybe I'm just being duped by the insurance companies telling me I can be liable for negligence in either written or verbal advice. Don't really care, I'm covered either way.
