Who buys Norway Spruce and Thuja in the Southwest?
spuddog0507 replied to Paul73's topic in Forestry and Woodland management
Oliver Coombs at timber auctions in york would be a good man to talk to as he would auction it off as a standing sale for you , so basicaly sold to a harvesting crew who would cut process and remove from site so you wouldnt need to do owt only watch and take a few photos and then take payment,, -

From the photos, I'd quite happily climb that, thorns dont bother me too much, done several smaller ones before.

It adds a whacking chunk to it though. Mine used to be any age, then it was 21, then 25. I almost passed out when they suggested last renewal that it be ‘any driver over thirty’ How on earth will young people get jobs at this rate?
-
Was going to say, my old fleet was 'any driver, any age plus sdp'. Cost a chunk as things go but was so much easier to not think who was going where and what in! Mark's comment about reading the signs is so true. My Land-rover was half the price of the tippers as they could go on an ag/forestry classification, but the AstraVan was right dear even though it was doing no real work,

Yea thats it . I could not remember .
-
Yep. Thanks, both. White.
-
Ok, but Mark made a good suggestion re ID , so if you can see pink flowers its the nigra, white flowers pissardii
-
I'd love to post the streetview but I respect my client's privacy.
-
ok thanks for reply - I questioned ID because RHS says nigra is a more rounded form and pissardii upright
-
Leaf colour doesn't look dark enough, to me anyway. History view on Google Maps might show it in flower.

Hi Stubby, also known as a plumbers version of a crows foot spanner, very handy when nothing else gets in there.👍

good question

Perhaps the climate makes a difference. I have seen some whoppers up here, they become a mass of vertical epicormic growth.

cordless angle grinder? As above, repairing fences manualyl is pretty soul destroying. Replacing the odd post is fine, but if its more than that (and it must be if the wire is rusting) its getting to the stage of full replacement.
-
Look I'll admit its a bit weird. But why did it leave two saws dry as a done and hot within a short space of time. Replacing bars and saws is expensive and not something I want to experiment with. Im going to try gator oil next. Ive used petrol or acetone with a brass wire brush. Horrible job though.

Oh, was waiting for it all to kick off here last night, nothing. Apparently a 15 year old school girl was sexually assaulted on a train to Aberdeen this week. No reports of that assault on here.... perhaps because the attacker was a white man which makes it more tolerable to some?

Mitsubishi L200 2.5 Kingcab (2 doors, 4 seats), 109,677 miles - MOT for 12 months. This 5 speed manual diesel pick up has been professionally converted in to a hydraulic tipper, this conversion was carried out in 2021 and the truck has been used little since, as it was purchased to complete a job in a inaccessible place. The tipper is constructed using a steel box frame, a steel plate bed and removable aluminium sides/ rear tailgate, so it can be easily converted in to a flatbed if required. The hydraullic tipping bed is controlled by an in-cab remote control on a lead, it controls the up and down operation (please see photos and video). The bed size is 6'2'' long x 5'6'' wide. To my knowledge the hydrullic pump and ram were new at the time of fitting. The truck was last serviced at 109, 441 miles with a engine and gearbox oil change plus filters etc., however it could do with some of the auxillary belts changing as they squeal under load. The truck itself is in used condition, it starts first time with no smoke and pulls along a full load with no issues. If you are looking for a pristine vehicle then this one probably isn't for you, however if you want a dependable workhorse then it definatly fits the bill. Bank transfer as payment, no canvassers, salespeople or oil scammers!£4,850

The cheapest supermarket beeswax furniture polish seems to be the best solvent remover without buying the expensive Stihl stuff. Works great as a label remover and for cleaning bars, plastic and softening caked on resin.

I think that's the 250 Villiers, as the 350 had a single exhaust port, all the 250,s had two, but that's a beauty and I would love to own one. If you still had it I'd be worrying the life from you trying to buy it.

Nothing much, they were dirty chains coated in resin and rust, I was hoping that diesel would get some of the resin off. It didnt touch it.
