  1. Past hour
  2. Can't say I did. Have you got a link to that? @Johnsond You're usually good at having information screenshotted. Can you point me in the direction where Trump reported some concerns? And if he did, why hasn't he acted on them?
  3. Is he... seeking a safe country while unable to financially support himself? Well, well, well. Two things on 'Tommy Robinson' fleeing UK to 'protect his family': 1) He permanently moved his family from UK to Spain back in 2020, 5 years and 7 months ago. 2) His marriage ended in divorce in 2021. Tommy doesn't have to worry about ISIS. Never in history has ISIS attacked an Israeli agent.
  4. Bueller, Bueller
  5. Don't buy 7hp whatever you do, you have to hold material back or put tiny bits in all the time. I was working with a mate on Friday who has a 13hp Jansen, had to ask him to stop cutting everything up so small, just stick it in the chipper. Mines 24hp, makes a hell of a difference to what it'll just chonk through without slowing down.
  6. It appears like the above 15hp version would be easily able to fill wheelie bins, unlike the the smaller 7hp unit. That's worth a few hundred pounds, right there, to anyone (like us) who use bins to ferry large quantities of chip out of awkward sites and gardens... I'm also a big fan of small chippers with rotating output chutes; they are much more practical. Check out the cost of replacement blades too, because I suspect they are more fragile -and less able to be commercially resharpened, when damaged ?
  7. Not qualified to say, but this could be useful (link below). It is a notifiable disease. Sweet chestnut blight (Cryphonectria parasitica) - Forest Research WWW.FORESTRESEARCH.GOV.UK Present in UK Notifiable – see ‘Report a sighting’ below Scientific name of causal agent – Cryphonectria parasitica Picture: D. Rigling Sweet chestnut blight is a destructive...
  8. Disc has the obvious advantage that the top cover pops up for easy blade adjustment while drum looks to be a real pain to sort out. RegC suggests that drums need extra sharp blades with the correct angle to pull the material in while disc are less fussy. I dont yet have a trailer or towbar so initially transport will be by a friends van, I will need to lift it myself, so weight could be important. I'm expecting to remove hopper, chute then possibly seperate engine from drum if needed for easy lifting. Comparing Rotatech's but I think its quite similar for the other import brands From 7 to 15hp the weight doubles, but the throughput hardly changes - I find that a bit odd!
  9. Today
  10. Well . Got back from Fratton to find Scotland handing us our arse . Pompey lost 1--0 to the blades who were not the better team . We had one goal disallowed . I could not see why as it was at the other end . We had 18 or 20 shots at goal and they had 1 . We need a proper striker . Colby Bishop , for me , is a bit of a donkey now and past his best . He has scored 1 goal all season . He has no spark and one speed . medium slow . Ho hum .
  11. The 461 is a decent saw as it was pretty much a 460 with a few eco mods on it. I would check out the state of the piston/ compression...taking the exhaust off and inspection would help. I would then check out the carb and fuel lines as fuel issues made up around 80% of the issues I saw in my time. These, and 460s, used to accumulate fine wood chip around the metering diaphragm, the fuel strainer is worth checking and a final adjustment of the carb as typically, I found the H screw would be lean and the L screw needs a retune when the saws had run in well. Manufacturers tend to lean the settings to achieve a better eco setting. The limiters will most likely need to be removed for a retune.
  12. @Oldfeller I presume that you missed my post.
  13. They're not actually new, they're remanufactured late classic Defenders. JLR isn't allowed to build new classic Defenders because they're non-compliant with current legislation so they bought significant numbers of low-mileage late (2015/2016) vehicles and rebuild them. Your £250k limited edition is actually at least 10 years old and technically second-hand. All the post-2016 factory limited editions have been like this. I missed a typo in my last post, the classic Defender was discontinued in 2016 so the youngest is 10, not 16 years old.
  14. Cheers guys!
  15. What sort of dosh is that Pete? Do they do a bigger one as basic as that?
  16. You're right, universities and colleges will take what you learnt home schooled and some will give greater credit for it since you have to generally do that off your own initiative, and learn rather than be force fed facts, if that is where they want to go. (Progressive) employers should or could be persuaded the same. If you wanted to look at it seriously for the younger one as well, there are home education groups, cooperatives or whatever where parents can work together. More options that way what they learn, based more in the parents interest rather than a central curriculum set by the school or county.
  17. What revs are showing at max speed ?
  18. It does look totally covered, which might make the PU last longer. Interesting…. You’re spot on about the pricing. I don’t see how putting about 3 strands of kevlar and a little picture of a chainsaw in some decent protective work boots puts the price up from £120 odd to £300.
  19. I'm still running that 461, what you're describing doesn't sound like yours is really running right. Maybe it hasn't done enough work to really wake up, but start with basics - air filter needs cleaning quite often, clean drum/clutch area. Maybe you've had oil leak around the pump so clutch slipping? Last thing would be carb but could need a tune. The 572 came out later but shouldn't embarrass a 461
  20. These are new classic landrovers , as a limited run, that look similar to the sv 90 realised in the early 90s , from the factory. Not some cheq built freelander crap . If i had the money then id order one
  21. Decent hard working parents are struggling enough to pay their way in the current situation. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to have one parent at home constantly as in times gone by. Uni is not for everyone, vocational skills training is sadly lacking as are apprenticeships with the level of deindustrialising ( due in no small part to our astronomical energy costs) we see in the UK. I’ve told the facts of what happened with the change in demographics and make up of the teams post Brexit to the firm whom mobs up and does the welding etc for us on vessels. Pre Brexit zero apprentices post Brexit numerous. Primary reason was a lack of cheap agency Eastern European labour. But that’s me being racist apparently.
  22. I hired a 13/75, to be fair it was blunt but straight poplar not too bad to chip, Scots pine absolute pain. Getting everything down the square chute a real pain. My current chipper is M500, which has 20" blade width so you can get quite big Y pieces in especially with a bit of bend. I'd go drum for sure.
  23. I have a green mech quad trac 160 that the feed roller stopped working,so I changed the solenoid, still nothing, swapped the plugs and will work off the out plug, I’m not getting 12v to the plug , any idea what to check next ?.
  24. Everybody needs love. Here is some love for Valentine's day: My courses are discounted today and for the next few days: Urban Tree Planting & Establishment for Healthy Trees. Tree Risk Inspection Basics: Assessing for health and safety. They have been made to inspire and to enable people practically but to improve them I need your constructive feedback and ratings.
  25. I rate my Jo-Beau M300 highly. Not my main chipper, but as said by many great fro rear garden access problems. The feed aperture is wide and is easy to get awkward curved stuff through. Takes a little while to learn what it will take, and how to hold it back when the blades are newly sharp and "greedy". Build quality is excellent, and Honda engine. Worth paying the extra for rotating discharge spout.
