Aye I don’t really want to insult him as he’s a good friend though😂 on the plus side the misses seems happy for me to buy another gun so I might bide my time on this one.

Well if it does the job it’s got to be worth an offer. You are right about the used market, bottom end of it is flooded with plenty of tidy good usable kit but absolutely zero interest in much of it. I’ve a pair of Gunmark Sabel SS’s in 3”, 32” barrels, cracking guns but worth literally nothing.

He'd still need his basic cross-cutting tickets. Felling small trees and aerial rescue would add value too. We can get into the murky waters of tickets being a legal requirement if you like, but not many firms will take on a new starter without them. Re: the GRCS. Fantastic bit of kit in the right hands. I wouldn't entrust my safety to a novice with no understanding of rigging operations though. There are very few people I'd have rigging for me with a GRCS without direct comms, which you did mention. We've all got towing entitlements now mate. Anyone can tow up to 3.5t, which is a bit worrying. Mark is spot on though. Experience driving larger vehicles and towing would add extra value easily. I'm not far from Oxfordshire and I'm my opinion, a groundsman who is competent with a saw, rigging and good work ethic would easily be charging £150 per day self employed. Works out at £35000 per year based on 48 weeks per year. Not saying you can demand that straight away but you'd be there within a year or two. Add in an aerial rescue ticket and basic climbing kit to add a few quid onto your day rate. It'll be an evolution.

£500 is about £400 too much honestly.Thats if you really want it. You dont know who or how the crack was fixed, will he refund you if it cracks again 5 clays in? I would swerve that gun personally Matty, unless it was free. You guys are spoilt for choice in the UK,you could do much better than a cracked Miroku if you have £500 to throw around.

So this was a predictably disappointing outcome. It's fallen firmly into the realms of the law of diminishing returns unfortunately. Not much more than a load of hot air, (in more ways than one), now. The whole thing needs dismantling, rethinking and rebuilding. Obvious places to start would be to exclude the fossil fuel interests/lobbying and completely change the ridiculous logistics of it all. Or just scrap it altogether. Any ideas anyone, what do we do? Here's two different sets of five takeaways. COP30: Five key takeaways from a deeply divisive climate summit WWW.BBC.CO.UK What did we learn from a climate summit that ended in a deal with no new mention of fossil fuels? Its just a big meccano set - instructions are clear and good - did not find many issues in following them, really well built kit. I put a few posts up as we went through the assembly - link below - we built ours up on a concrete slab and did not use any machine assistance - two of us lifted the sawhead on to the tracks

Looks like a farmers saw to me....reckon the owner either has some strange working practices or total lack of maintenance...what a mess.
-
I don’t think so, guy who owns it likes his 12’s and shoots another 20 , this I believe came from his father…there is a crack in the stock that has been fixed , it feels tight and shoots nice and has ejectors ….don’t suppose I could ask for more but it’s a pretty ugly thing though! He wants £500 for it but it seems really a buyers market out there for older second hand guns.

Thing is he knows this business, so he won’t waste your time or money.

Should be ok for standard steel shot mate, it’s proofed for 3” mags. Not for high performance steel though.

Right so, I'm fed up with my current website host, they're terrible. And my website needs a proper redesign and SEO sorting out. But there's so much out there, promising the earth. Can anyone here recommend an honest Website/SEO company that will redesign my website, host it, or at least move mine somewhere better and optimise it for Google?

It's got BNP so should be ok (British Nitro Proof) from Birmingham.

Does any one know owt about proof marks on shotguns? been offered this old miroku 600 20 bore .. not really interested if it can’t shoot steel though.

From what I’ve seen in similar situations, the best way to get an accurate value is to ask an arboricultural consultant to do a tree valuation using something like the CAVAT or Helliwell method. They’ll look at size, condition, amenity value, etc. If the timber has already been removed it’s still possible to estimate based on stump size and photos. Replacing them with mature screening trees can get pricey depending on size, even semi-mature stock can run into the hundreds per tree once you factor in planting and aftercare. Fully mature specimens can go into the thousands. Might be worth getting a couple of quotes locally to compare.
