Anyway, to give closure. I went and picked up the battery (€700) and tried it out, firstly very heavy, heavier than a 550 petrol, it cut well for 10 seconds then the battery was flat, so I went to charge it and realised I’d need a new charger to go with my two others. This was the straw that broke the camels back, so I took the saw and battery back to the dealer, said I didn’t want them, did a deal for an Echo 2511 and left it there. Conclusion: unless you’re not spending your own money ie. you purchase saws for a council or the like, don’t get this saw.

Hello all, My name is Robert Cole, I'm an ex-tree surgeon and now a PhD researcher at the Countryside and Community Research Institute, University of Gloucestershire. I'm currently exploring woodland creation in the UK to better understand what is driving who to plant forests. I'm currently looking to talk to those that have planted woodland to hear about the decision making that went on before the work started. It would be great to hear about things such as what factors were important in this process, any trade offs that were made, and whether any other plans were being considered for the site. I'm equally interested to talk to anyone who might have been looking into planting but decided against it to get a sense of what stood in the way of your plans. If you, or anyone you know, would be open to talk I would really appreciate it. I would be more than happy to email over more details about the research or introduce myself over the phone. I've put my university email here and am happy to share my mobile through a private message. All the best, Rob. [email protected]

Yes I had a 4g antenna fitted, and it worked for a couple of months. When I complained they upgraded it to 5g but it hasn’t worked at all for over a year. You see it isn’t my home it is my work site and in the middle of a forest so trees get in the way for phone signal.

If you mean the battery version, I've replaced the micro switch. It's really not that involved. Turns out mine was just a bit dirty and just needed a wipe, though I still replaced it with the new one as I had it all apart.

New electric self-propelled woodchipper launched across UK

Some idea of price would be informative -
Whatever you do, don't buy arbortec heavy duty breathedry jacket. It's shite, and takes forever to dry. I too bought a couple of Regatta hi vis jackets in the sale. For the price, they're OK. I bring four waterproof jackets to work, if one's wetted out, I just change into the next one. Not sure I could justify spending Karona money, for something that is not bramble / silky / wild rose proof.

I always went around 70% what the local builders merchants were selling at. If 4x2 was £1 a metre i was 70p that worked out quite well. Mainly external timber so seasoned stuff made no difference all douglas fir or larch. All the outer rounds from the logs after you cube it up would be cut and bagged for fire wood hardly any waste. Saw dust was the main thing to get rid off but the horse guys will take that for bedding. Facebook marketplace is as good as anywhere.

NATO rides the US Coat tails. Its high time the US didtch the other members and let them FA&FO. Intersting you call Trump out for not having all chairs in the Ballroom. Can you link me to a quote where you said the same thing about a very obviouly dementia ridden Biden and his utter corruption and inability to string a sentence together. The hypocracy from certain folk should be astonishing but its no surprise so many libtards are so blinkered.

To an extent. This is worth a watch: Watch LOL: Last One Laughing UK Season 1 – Prime Video WWW.PRIMEVIDEO.COM 10 comedians. One rule. Do not laugh. Jimmy Carr has assembled ten of the UK's funniest people in one room and set them the... Local comedy clubs are rammed.

Mind they can put them on the TV, we don't have to find them funny. There are funnier "DEI" comedians on Youtubes.... but I suspect also too many bad words for the TV

You've just put an order in for a 10" Peterson, right? I've just picked up a used model myself. I plan to do remote milling for customers with it and mill Oak Beams etc. But I'd like to offer customers 2"x4", 4" posts, 6" Posts, 2"x6" etc. On the practice log Im working on I ripped 14 of 2"x6" in 30 minutes. If I had a helper it would be significantly faster. I've been told localluy we're £30 for a 4.2m x 2" x 6" board. Sounds steep to me and I need to look more into it. But if thats the case on my tod I can rattle out 28 boards in an hour on a good sized log. Obviously there is a lot of prep time and waste removal before you get to the good stuff. But in an hour I could produce £840 worth of 6"x2" boards. I could sell at half the price of a Timber Merchant and still make good coin and they'd save a fortune. I'm trying to figure out how best to advertise this though.

Possible but not it's primary use.

I felt it was something to do with sowing, I can see how it could bundle up the thatch.

This topic is entitled " Next POTUS ". I'm thinking I want to see him/her very soon, as the current one could go down in history as the man who caused NATO countries to be in armed conflict with each other! 😲 Every day, you think he can't do/say anything more unbelievable, and every day he manages it with ease. I'm genuinely not sure he's got all his chairs in the ( new ) ballroom!

More like the other way round- people are pulling money out of crypto and overvalued American stocks into a safe haven. silver in particular has been suppressed via paper shorts for years. Central banks are on a big gold shopping spree to meet Basel 3, the dollar is going down the pan, and war is everywhere.

I asked a soil scientist about adding ash to soil, he said to do it very sparingly. I think it's quite harsh. Excessive alkalinity can inhibit the uptake of other mineral nutrients.
-
Correct on the chemistry there. Quicklime is nasty stuff. Slaked lime is more stable but eventually alters to calcite. Slaked lime is used for lime mortar. Probably the best way to manage soil pH with Calcium in the long-term is the addition of crushed limestone. I can't imagine quicklime being cost-effective, since its production uses a lot of fuel and its addition to soil might kill just about everything (worms, bacteria etc.).

It’s social engineering by TV executives (the gatekeepers) The easiest way into TV comedy is on these terrible fake comedy panel shows, so if you’re chosen to get a spot through DEI, you’re onto a winner, you can just hide behind others and occasionally say something rude about a Tory MP get a laugh from the audience and voila! You’re a comedian. It goes hand in hand with mixed race marriages (always with a kid who likes like the cute one from Diversity dance troupe) and drag queens being considered ‘talent’ It’s why British comedy is in the toilet, the gatekeepers want you to think like they do.

How do you get a fat lass out of bed in the morning? Piece of cake.

I doubt this would work where Gav is based in south wales. Loads of people i know have static caravans down in pembrokeshire (tenby/narbeth ) Its very hit and miss depending where the mast is located to the site.

Im not technical but a friend of mine got decent wifi this way and he had poor mobile 4g at his house. I don't think you need line of sight to an antenna. Id expect the wifi provider to do a desktop survey and maybe come out to your house to make sure it'll work.

I have a mate over in ireland that fits a lot of these starlink systems in the most remote places going. He swears they work fantastic Gav just need to align it right to the satellite dish. Here is a breakdown of Starlink's performance and operating speeds: Key Performance Metrics (2025–2026) Download Speeds: 50–250+ Mbps (varies by region and congestion). Upload Speeds: 10–40 Mbps. Latency: 20–50 milliseconds, which is significantly lower than traditional satellite internet (450–700 ms). Maximum Potential: In some scenarios, speeds have been reported over 400 Mbps.
