Morning, blue sky and about zero I think, it was melting through the night so it’s going to be slippy. A morning dog walking and eating then off too my great nephews 2nd birthday party. Have a good 1.

The cold air seems to have moved off to be replaced with rain. Going for Yorkshires finest. Jobs and domesticity with rugby on tv. She is to the local theatre tonight with sister and her mum, not my thing so will meet her the pub after possibly. Sue, Par, Fish, Shell.

Morning all, No need for thermal base layer today. Doing a quote then maybe a little spannering. Have a good weekend.

Hedgecutting did me in I reckon before I even got my hands on a saw. Climbing in the sub zero with ice and snow in the trees is tough to work through. It’s just miserable, the chipper exhaust, digger exhaust close by makes a difference to just keep heating and drying. The robo too. Yesterday was -8 but dry, I didn’t need gloves until we got onto some Sitka for the jaggies, but Wednesday with snow and sleet it was miserable.

But it's Bazball! It has to look good. That Perth pitch looks an absolute horror for batting; I hope Smith's elbow stays sore! Even allowing for the pitch surely Aus have got the game sewn up; they have three days to score 200 runs
-
Surely that's misuse, like ragging it on full throttle while the clutch slips? Otherwise I can't see how to wear the inside of the drum so much before the teeth come off the sprocket.

I'm yet to fork out on one.. but swazi is the one I've heard no complaints about. I use a paramonfor climbing in the wet, it doesn't keep you dry, not much will when climbing/raising arms up etc. But it's warm, dries quick and easy to vent. I hate being hot. There is a brand called Hilltrek that make some good looking jackets that run on vetiver and nikwak analogy stuff like a paramo. I haven't any first hand experience though. Amd cost the same as Swazi.. so just get a swazi.

I agree with much of your analysis, though I think they take the bias further than you do. And over the years I have liked plenty of their non-news output. There is not a perfect solution add every news outlet has an agenda of one sort or another. What I think is wrong is for the public to be forced to fund the BBC. The license fee should have been abolished as soon as there became a viable choice back in the eighties. If the BBC are that good they will have no trouble attracting subscribers. To demonstrate how wrong the current system is, in my household we don’t watch any live broadcast TV except my wife and boys watch the Grand Prix which we pay for through Now TV. But because they watch this I am forced to fund the BBC. It is like shopping in Asda but there exists some archaic law that means you have to pay fifteen pounds a month to Tesco even though you choose not to shop there.

Looks the Europeans really really need to wake up regarding Russia. The edited clip below is from a Ukrainian friend from Odessa, we were on the same ship for 7 years. Everyone has become accustomed to this difficult war. Imagine how hard it is for the soldiers on the front lines. I have some friends who are Marine Corps officers, and they're like zombies now, doomed and depressed. It's almost impossible to talk to them. They just stare at one spot and say nothing. More and more people are ready to surrender to Russia. People are tired of the bombings and living without electricity and heat. I'm starting to think about where to move, because if Putin subjugates Ukraine, everyone will gradually be sent to prison or to fight against Europe on Russia's side. It's all very sad. If this continues, we will be captured by spring. I am currently working at BOSKALIS, and the same ship, Sea1 Spearfish, is now in Brazil. My family is fine, my sons are abroad, there will be no future for them here in Ukraine. If I'm in Scotland, I'll come and visit you. That’s from one of the most upbeat optimistic guys I know, Sadly the USA looks like it’s turning in on itself very much like the isolationist movement pre WW2, people maybe forget how strong that actually was. Time to spend big on defence not net zero nor other nonsense, the ex forces guys on here have witnessed our armed forces being gutted for years whilst successive governments and PMs don the camo jacket and grandstand for photo ops. Ive 3 sons who have done their national service in Finland, a country with less than 10% of our population yet an armed forces and civilian defence infrastructure hugely more capable and equipped than ours. The UK and Europe has seriously dropped the ball here “ with the exception of one or two”. Climate change, trans rights and all the other western leftard bollocks will be a long way from anyone’s priorities if we really have to get to it against a determined adversary who doesn’t give a shit about casualties . The UK as was stated a few days ago currently has zero plans in place to deal with any form of missile or mass drone attack. Let that sink in !!! No plans 🤷♂️🤷♂️basically every man for himself.

My Dad suffered from it too so guessing it runs in the family. He was also diabetic which thankfully I’m not as yet 👍

I just watched Archer throw his wicket away for no reason, got a 4 then threw his bat at the next ball and caught out. I am not saying he’s got to stay there for the next three days, but 20 minutes, scratching around for a 15/20, which he’s well capable of, could be a game changer. Not singling him out, just cannot understand the rush.

It would be fair to say its a bit of a bowlers track don't you think ?

Relatively speaking yes; the BBC are totally balanced and objective. Seriously though.Sure, they suffer from bias and serious errors of judgement. Like the Trump speech stupidly, or the Gaza/Israel coverage or the inordinate amount of airtime devoted to Light Blue rather than Green or Orange. But compared to anything else out there, nothing even comes close in terms of breadth of coverage and range of content. In the main all pretty balanced, overly balanced sometimes. What would you suggest as an alternative to the BBC? Surely to you don't want to end up with a situation like they have in the States, with very little but partisan "news" outlets. Or even worse, having to try and glean glimmers of truth from AI infused social media owned by the likes of Zuckerberg or Musk. Sends a shiver down my spine.

If I get time tomorrow I will list some of the times in the last 20 years or so the BBC has been found guilty of institutional bias. Of course that will probably be the fault of Ofcom. The BBC are totally balanced and objective.

So Reynaulds. I think I've started to suffer from it recently. Just the two index fingers. I'm shocked by how painful it is, considering it's just a bit of cold. Ironic really as I've been teasing my mum about it for years, thinking she was just being a wuss. Is it hereditary? Guessing I've got it from her.

I have heard this before. The BBC have only made a mistake, and they are the victim of a vicious right wing attack. I genuinely pity anyone who is sucked in by this.

Fxk no. They're comical with their crazy heat, and have a weird but nice flavour. Not that easy to grow here though..
