  1. Past hour
  2. Oh no you wouldn't! Against all advice on here, I bought the MSA 300 Stihl. It suits my needs, but it's not a pleasure to use, whereas the 261 brings a smile to your face every time you pick it up.
  3. You know if you spent less time trawling the internet for your next TDS fix you might actually get that promotion from paperclip counting to post it note and biro manager.
  4. It's pretty clear to me, social media is bad on balance. The world would be a better place without it. It drives social division and isolation, extremism, mis/dis-information, conspiracy theories; a whole host of negatives. AI could well be akin to SM on speed. Where do stand on children having smart phones?
  5. Wow; as a sawmiller it is so sad to see such amazing logs turned into chip. I realise that you may not find a suitable buyer exactly when you need one, but there is a niche market for such logs. Not only sawmills like mine, but also some chainsaw carvers like nice big lumps of sequoia. i recently bought a lorry load of sequoia not quite as big as some of the ones on this thread, but I was only buying the second and third lengths. I paid £100 per ton delivered if I remember rightly.
  6. Disc in chipper are heavy, and some tractors don't have soft start, old tractors were you dipped clutch pedal and in gauged lever and release slowly were easy.
  7. There were rumours that Trump had paid quite a lot of money to some very young men in his earlier years... only saw that story once so always thought it was not so credible till this week
  8. That's how I get my GreenMech going.
  9. Is there an overrun clutch in the mechanism somewhere then?
  10. Hello everyone, I’m new to the industry and would like some advice on what people do with the waste created from jobs? I’m in the Manchester / Yorkshire area, would anybody know somewhere I can take green waste / wood / gardening waste etc?
  11. Thoughts on the Jensen?
  12. Went and chipped my brash piles, the first stack was when I was expecting to be chipping with an 8’’ chipper , 2nd pile was after I’d bought the Jensen over the phone so all left bigger and easier to feed.
  13. Today
  14. It’s very simple, start it in 540, get it spinning then change to 1000 speed. No drama.
  15. Ife an entec tree bustard in the container , it would wipe the floor with the above machines , eats what ever it can get through the infeed chute
  16. Wordle 1,612 4/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟨🟨 🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  17. It will called the Green-wolf 150P I would buy it solely to have something to complain about as since buying an Evo165D my life has been too quiet and stress free...
  18. Nah, had my Dutch Soldier on the ropes and busting out the timber.
  19. Put it all back together today and worked first time.. must of just got water in somewhere it shouldn't. At least I have a good excuse not to trim hedges in torrential rain now...
  20. Straight forward Oak dismantle with a bit if rigging to swing the branches in and avoid the vintage car on the other side of the hedge. Felled it at waist height due to metal and a cavity full of broken roof tiles. Centre was hollow and full of acorns, no doubt squirrelled away for winter, and the first time that I have come across Ganoderma Lucidum, a really rather rare fungi.
  21. Why does that grease have a seal pic on tin but now you say it does not contain rendered clubbed seals that's false advertising!
  22. Evening all. I am no electrician but for the love of me i cant seem to have the light cable for the chipper last more than a moth or so before coming apart internally and not working! The wires all end up ripping off from the connectors (where screwed in). This is on the truck end. The chipper end never comes off but that seems to be always loose and also creates a bad connection. added together its a real pain in the ass! Has anybody come up with a better solution? Anyone run the wireless ones? or any advice/ products that last? Many thanks
  23. Nice work Jose. How did you split the bigger cord for the chipper? Surely you didn’t rip everything with saws?
  24. btw was 8m circumference in the end at the base. That last lump in the top picture 9T in weight, last pic 5T lump.
  25. its a bit hidden but under the first picture is a time-lapse video. Those chippers are amazing! and so quiet too!
