Carrying out work on a neighbours trees
openspaceman replied to William Clifford's topic in Trees and the Law
It's your customers responsibility to get all permissions sorted. To go without permission is trespass, to do work without permission on neighbour's trees is an aggravated trespass with, possibly, criminal damage if my interpretation of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 is correct. -
Once again the selective source auditor is talking pure shite. Just answer a straight question SP, why no reaction to the all the utter drivel and pics that are posted on here about the current US administration , if it aligns with your left wing BS you are silent I put a screen grab up of an article and you claim “ photoshop” yet again, you are like an annoying yappy little dog that just won’t stfu 🤷♂️ The thread is titled POTUS is it not 🤷♂️not Trump Qatar Whingefest🤷♂️

Something like this, few similar ones. I fitted a single cylinder one once, wasn't pretty but kept it running until I sold it on. Or just rip it out and fit a newer engine for about £400.

Been doing some research. Maybe I can get some more oomph out of the starter motor, but I think there is a high chance the compression release lug has exploded on the camshaft and bits of metal are floating around the sump. This seems to be a fairly common that B&S engines are hard to turn over. My local B&S workshop says replacing the camshaft would be a major job and I should scrap it. Of course I have the option of DIY, with just the cost of parts and gaskets, but this would be a fairly ambitious undertaking for me! I suppose if I fail and it ends up as scrap I have only lost the cost of the parts (that's how I normally gear myself up for irrational repairs to old wreaks!) I have contemplated rigging up two batteries in parallel, to achieve the amps required to start it. I know this works by jumping from the car. However there is a risk that lumps of metal end up causing a lot of internal damage.

Norwood Lumbermate 2000 Sawmill Mobile sawmill with lots of upgrades This is an earlier model than the current one, and is built far heavier and stronger than the current model. The log bunks are 6”x2” steel box, whereas today’s model is just a steel pressing, for example. This sawmill was fitted with many upgrades from new, as below:- · 23hp vee-twin electric-start engine – the largest available · Road tow kit – turns a static mill into a go-anywhere mobile sawmill. · Log loading kit, consisting of a set of ramps on one side and a winch on the other. · 1½” blade system - wider blade than normal for better cutting. · Extended bed – now 24’ in length, giving a loading capacity of 20’ x 36” log · Quick dog kit – allows cutting right down to the last ¾” board so no wood is wasted. The mill has capacity for a log 20’ long by 3’ diameter, and this allows for cutting a maximum board width of 26”, which I can say I have done many times and the motor copes with that without difficulty. The sawmill can be towed by any car as it is well under the 750kg weight limit for unbraked trailers. It tows well and is surprisingly easy to manoeuvre. I have often taken it out on location where you can set up beside a fallen tree and mill it in situ. I am the second owner and had it set up at my farm where I cut timber for many customers. Seems that as soon as it’s known that you have a mill, everyone wants something cut on it! I recouped my initial investment within the first year after I bought it. The mill has been in dry storage in a lock-up, as shown in two of the pictures, and will need a couple of hours to re-commission it. I have included a selection of pictures of work done during my ownership. Also included is a comprehensive build and parts manual from the manufacturer. If you’re going to get into the ethics of it, then I’d suggest the ‘clone saws’ are themselves stolen IP, manufactured worse.

Bulk Arb Waste wanted - can collect but how to find
Woodwanter replied to Woodwanter's topic in Firewood forum
who are these people!? they pay to take stuff in? the only thing i wont take is brash (just chip it first) or soil. i thought roots and big awkward lumps craned down are the most tricky to get rid off? speaking to the lads who i see here, they all say they get paid to take the stuff down and unless its decent straight bits, just want to dump it as quick as possible and get on to the next job. is this now different then? -

i have on here, i hadn't come across Greenline but have now been on there too - thank you. -
Arms up, front plate off. Open tank cap, Vacuum it out of the tank, replace with new hydraulic 46. There might be a drain plug if you don’t have a vacuum extractor. Filter apparently doesn’t need doing at the same time as the hydraulic oil change but I did mine anyhow. I posted the part number on this thread somewhere.

Meetings with remarkable trees, the Arbtalk version
organic guy replied to Steve Bullman's topic in Picture Forum
Spot on , saw photo of church yard without tree about 100 years ago. Could not believe it was so young, looked like 500 year old yew. -
My advice is to say nothing more until the OP shows some sort of sign of participating in discussion, or even just acknowledging assistance. He/she has only ever posted twiice on Arbtalk, the last time there were 15 replies but nothing further from the OP. The thread closed with me saying that I personally was not going to contribute unless the OP answered one of the pertinent questions put to him. An utter waste of time, I don't mind helping becasue I have very detailed knowledge of CAVAT, but why bother?
