  4. Last time I tried speaking to timberwolf technical they were absolutely not interested and said I needed to speak to my local dealer, worlds apart from when I spoke to the technical department 10 years ago they practically bent over back wards to help with my queries.
  5. Ive moved on from from wordle to wo. Starter words of it, at and go are giving a 90% success rate. Its good for your elf esteem. Tis the season to be jolly.

    Yes yes yes.
  7. If you need to nibble so you can throw pieces somewhere safe rather than just shove them off, you're better off nibbling cubier blocks than big diameter, thin cookies. Short bar rather than long. Digs in, plunges etc better. I even carry a few of these with lag bolts/screws for if you need to tether a chunk that's in danger of falling off while you cut it, like a big beech knuckle.

  9. even with tyres it's asking a lot of the slabs - I don't own a 500i, but that would have been my favoured tool - along with another tool to lift it off the ladder/ spikes

Arb shops, if you have any locally, will usually have someone that can LOLER gear.
  14. Two day copper beech dismantle this week. Younger lads in a bigger team would have done it in a day. Not overly big, but over a couple of tidy gardens, and nothing must land next door. Tree was growing in a raised border with a rickety brick wall around the border. Terms of quote were that we could not guarantee no damage to wall, and customer was ok with this/their problem etc. Day 1 went well, day two got the sticks off, then felled the trunk onto a protective layer of pallets, short sleepers, dumpy bags to power of N. I did not fancy using a 36 inch bar up the tree to nibble away at the large knuckle where the main trunk sent out secondary stems. All was fine until near the end of the clean up where we found the pallets had transmitted enough force to crack some Indian stone slabs. Grrr! Fortunately Pete the builder who uses a bit of my yard is able to rectify the damage, and customer still happy nil went next door. Learning curve: Put old tyres under the pallets to cushion the force.
  15. Now that, in a shooting context, is ambiguous.

First shoot of the season. No lead this year. Easier on the tangles and no doubt his neck. Harder on everyone’s hearing. He was generally good on the whistle but I did have to use my big voice a couple of times. He responds quite linearly to volume and intensity. Which is fine for me because I’m a metal and hardcore punk vocalist but probably less enjoyable for Maureen, 68, next to me on the beating line, trying to enjoy the countryside. He was pretty good. Stayed close. Got a bit big for his boots later on and went further. Had a word. Fine again. Bumped a hare on the last drive. Massive thing, all of about eight feet away. Nearly managed to dive for him but I’m slow witted. Willow coppice btw. Headland mulched for harvester next week apparently.
