  1. Past hour
  2. Aus 123 for 9 at close . Stokes got a 5 fer .... @Mick Dempsey
  3. I’ve never needed more force than it can give as standard but would like the unloaded speed to be more ie before the 2nd stage kicks in. Mind you I mainly process crap that can’t be milled so often have gnarly bits of elm, ash, oak etc so appreciate the power, I’ve had flyer catch me in the face before so as you say I’m in no hurry nowadays. It supplies me, family and a few friends so no commercial pressure to deal with. Im thinking of upgrading to the box wedge rock model in the future once it’s been around a bit and I can get some good feedback.
  4. Reform UK's former Wales leader Nathan Gill jailed for accepting pro-Russian bribes NEWS.SKY.COM Gill, 52, pleaded guilty to eight counts of bribery between 6 December 2018 and 18 July 2019 in September. Ex-leader of Reform UK in Wales sentenced to 10-and-a-half years for taking pro-Russian bribes WWW.BBC.CO.UK The judge tells Nathan Gill his actions were a "grave betrayal" of the electorate's trust and inflicted "profound harm". Another MEP at the time used similar soundbites.
  5. How soon after transplanting could a mature ish hawthorn be laid? Say 75mm diameter at shin height.
  6. Today
  7. If only they didn't take 6 years to become impenetrable. The mindless ones have trodden them flat long before they become an effective barrier. Perhaps theres a business opportunity for soneone here, transplanting fully mature and ideally, laid hedges that you can buy on a roll !
  8. As the full force is not often needed anyone else tempted to try a new spool could fit a regenerative one . This increases the flow by diverting the output on the rod side to the piston side. If more force is required at a knot the flow from the rod side is diverted back to tank and the full force is applied to the piston side. It does nothing for the return speed though. I am doddery enough to appreciate safety features and generally in no hurry.

    Jokes???

    Brilliant.
  10. Did you know that Mike Tyson is anti religion? I know this is the case as he punches people in the faith!
  11. It is extra work, needs more space but if it is a problem then a thorny hedge keeps all but the most determined away

  14. Quick 2 min phone call to them, 'whats happened to my order when am I getting it' would answer your questions and probably push it theough it it hasn't been sent out.
  15. With practice I can cut grass neatly with a massive cc engine. For small areas you can use half revs but its not great for the engine long term. Try thinner string. With the bump head, try having the bump bit rubbing on the ground as a guide, but not too hard so more string comes out.
  16. Bubble Wrap, Cellophane, Crock-Pot, Escalator, Frisbee, Hoover, Jacuzzi, Kleenex, Post-it Note, Styrofoam, Thermos, Tupperware
  17. Nifty three. Wordle 1,616 3/6* ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟩🟨🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  18. Looking at it id go in tripple , maybe quadruple the price, the job i looked at that was a pound a whip was easy, soft ,clear no roots ground and no coming back either . I did a job once like yours in staffs, (timberhonger) going was shite ,3inch of peat then the rest was a mix of quartz and roots .. the stumps weren't cleared off site and the aim was to plant 1500 whips a day ! Wasn't doable . Have you got much else on in the was of work . To be fair the trust that asked me to do the planting showed me other quotes not named , for 2 row hedgerow with natural clumping and a zig zag pattern, random clusters of trees 350m, was 2k and 3k respectively .guarded ,staked and no stock replacement either Not worth ****************ing around with
  19. Morning all, My usual Friday off. Bit of office work then maybe go for a walk with wife. Dog can’t go far so she will stay home while we are mindful of ice - hips get weaker with age. Safer up a tree.
  20. Happy Friday Arbtalkers 😉
  21. A light dusting of snow in the village, smoke rising from the chimneys making a very pretty scene that probably hasn’t changed much in a 100 years. Finished work for this week so I am out pricing in the morning then pottering on with a bit of maintenance this afternoon, remember It’s poets day guys. 👍
  22. Cold or warm we always turn up, good kit, good guys, good attitude and get it done!👍
  23. Morning, nice 1 Doug! You had me at cafe! Mick fare play to still climbing! -7 I think outside, blitzed through my felling job yesterday in the snow so a day of village jobs getting knocked off the list then the dentist at 3.30pm. Have a good day guys.
  24. I had the same incredible service from Clark Forest, and it’s long way all the way to Hastings with 50l of Supatack. Chainsawbars are always spot on, Gustarts supplied my AUS pole set in good time, never used Skylands but only heard good things about them. We do tend to just hear about bad service and gripes these days so it’s good to give the good ones a pat on the back. 👍
