Apology accepted. I can only say pulling the 881 past compression without decomp is a lot easier than trying to get that started. Once warm it wasn't as testing.

Or use it and break it within the 3 years, then get the Mrs to take it back for a full refund!.

Not forgetting I think they were fitted to one of the Bond 3 wheelers I believe.

1953 , the year I was borne . The 2T Villiers engine was every where in my youth . Francis Barnett , Cotton , James , Norman , Ambassador , Greeves and some others I can't think of . I think it was the backbone of small capacity motor cycles until Japan came along .

Larch or sweet chestnut sleepers, near chepstow?
Squaredy replied to sandspider's topic in General chat
Yes I could do this, though I am low on larch right now. I should have some in a few weeks if that helps. I would charge you £43 each. You might find it cheaper to use imported oak, though I could be out of date with this, but you used to be able to pick up French sleepers for around £25 I think. There used to be people who specialised in sleepers, one near Hereford if I remember rightly. Hope this helps. - Today

well I always thought the 350cc villiers was a single exhaust port, and the 250,s were twin port, but I searched and found this, The Villiers Engine. – Barnstormers NZ WWW.BARNSTORMERS.CO.NZ I apologize, every day's a school day.

It’s not that bad Ruben, I think the 4x4s are about £1500 a year for any driver with a U.K. license. It’s probably double what it was but I also added in sdp as well,is £750 extra pa too expensive when it’s the difference between a nipper working or not ? Bob

Sorry. Definitely a 350 as I had the original sales receipt and manual from 1953

I'll be quite unhappily climbing it.

I spoke to a big tree company working on the edge of London a couple of years ago, he ran some 3.5t trucks and 7.5t plus a 12t lorries, he employed old feller to drive younger one about in lorries as insurance was cheaper.. It is crazy as most arborist trucks go to site in morning and sit there, we're as builders run around all day in there's picking up stuff plus a trip to nearest cafe.
-
Don’t think anyone is worried about climbing it.

Who buys Norway Spruce and Thuja in the Southwest?
spuddog0507 replied to Paul73's topic in Forestry and Woodland management
Oliver Coombs at timber auctions in york would be a good man to talk to as he would auction it off as a standing sale for you , so basicaly sold to a harvesting crew who would cut process and remove from site so you wouldnt need to do owt only watch and take a few photos and then take payment,, -

It adds a whacking chunk to it though. Mine used to be any age, then it was 21, then 25. I almost passed out when they suggested last renewal that it be ‘any driver over thirty’ How on earth will young people get jobs at this rate?
-
Was going to say, my old fleet was 'any driver, any age plus sdp'. Cost a chunk as things go but was so much easier to not think who was going where and what in! Mark's comment about reading the signs is so true. My Land-rover was half the price of the tippers as they could go on an ag/forestry classification, but the AstraVan was right dear even though it was doing no real work,

Yea thats it . I could not remember .

Yep. Thanks, both. White.
