  1. Only the EU is exempt from import duty, but occasionally stuff from elsewhere slips through. Years ago i had about £1,500 of tools sent from the US, had it marked for a value of £200, hoping it'd get caught at customs and get duty on that amount rather than trying for less and getting a fine. Came through with no duty.
  2. That's pretty cheap. I paid £3,500 in March for my 2005 LM187.
  3. Still worth asking them if it can be done. Knott-Avonride make a huge number of axles in varying configurations, and Ifor make twin axle trailers with 3,500kg gross so it's possible. Just comes down to whether they're willing to put together what you want.
  4. God damn, what a nightmare. Can't find anyone with anything suitable in stock? (GT Towing?) Are the bigger brakes/bigger wheels for 3.5t not an option, or would it make deck height too much? Didn't realise the demand was that high!
  5. You really shouldn't have compressed flammable bees in transit, that's very dangerous.
  6. What's wrong with the 362? We have one at work, it's a great saw. So good that yesterday we bought 2 more of them.
  7. I buy Stihl ones off ToolsToday. Up to 36", plus extenders for bigger bars. Stihl ones are the best, don't buy the Husqvarna scabbards, they're crap.
  8. They often use them to steal catalytic converters. Few years ago a mate's fire station in Fleet had their cutters stolen, soon after that lots of cars in NW London had cats cut off with the shears.
  9. Pretty much this. Been looking at doing it with my 18' Ifor. 2' overhang at the back. An empty 20' is 2,200kg empty so within my payload. Set it on blocks or axle stands and lower in stages with jacks. Also tempted to build a mobile gantry to do it with. That your truck?
  10. Pay at pump... Luckily my local is a Tesco with pay at pump.
  11. Full of all kinds of junk. Most places i've worked all waste fluids go into one container. It'd be a mix of engine oil, gearbox oil, ATF, brake fluid, petrol, diesel, coolant, etc. I wouldn't want to put it into my saws or even handle the stuff. Chain oil isn't that expensive. At work they use (new) engine oil, not sure why. Tried one once, got stuck in my throat. Had a stiff neck for hours!
  12. You can't be getting your chopper out in the strip club mate. ?
  13. Agree with all of this. Drop down tailgate is really useful and easy, but you can't have an overhanging load. (Unless you remove the tailgate, which is very heavy and awkward.) I have ally ramps on mine, but they were £410 and there's no means of really securing them easily. As others said, they can be very slippery too.
  14. A saw with a 48" bar is a big, heavy, unwieldy thing!
  15. It is fully synthetic. I would guess it's the same as Husqvarna XP oil as both are blue, fully synthetic and come from Sweden.
  16. My single rear wheel tows just fine. Twin rear wheel carries weight better and will hide being heavy better with a lower legal payload as a trade-off. Mine has twin rear springs and a 3,500kg tow rating. Carries its legal load just fine. If you want to run heavy a twin wheel won't look heavy by ride height or tyre deformation.
  17. Was that you i passed on the A3 yesterday? ?
  18. My Sprinter does that and it doesn't even need to be wet/muddy/slippery. I'd love a locking diff for it but they're £££.
