  1. Never mind your fingers it's the staff I'd worrie about
  2. I sell both seasoned and unseasoned logs, but try to educate my customers to buy unseasoned logs and season the logs themselves (space permitting). I find most are quite amenable to the idea as it saves them money and they also find it spreads their cost better over the year as they're not just buying them all in the winter when they're burning them. I also have plenty of customers who are quite happy to burn unseasoned - myself included.
  3. Dose any one in the northeast sell rhi wood I have a customer waiting
  4. Shopped with them for years always get good service
  5. If you have staff then something just knocked up is not good enough if there is an accident, and I speak as someone who has seen and had my fair share of accidents even without modified machinery. The idea is two hands on the mechanism that activates the ram, similar to a standard log splitter. You also have better control over the splitting ram. I reckon the price is pretty fair if you consider you are converting the processor into a dual purpose machine ie processor and splitter in one.
  6. Which ways that? Before this I had rope but not great for h&s
  7. Just retro fitted the new handle to my WP36 from Riko. The handle makes it a hundred times easier to split rings or oversized single logs. Well worth every penny and I highly recommend it if you have the processor. http://Http://youtu.be/hQJwO4KiJ3g
  8. I process regularly for a customer that has 25 ton dropped with a weigh ticket, so we know exactly what's there. Usually takes us about 2 days to process it into 8-10 logs, only varying factor is the diameter of the timber supplied as sometimes we have a bit to ring up.
  9. 10 hrs by yourself you will kill you self better
  10. I do about 12 tons a day two people
  11. I've had mine for three years and have cut about 1200ins tons the little engine manages well
  12. Better Off with help you will get more production
  13. If you like budgies you'd love our shop, lots of the budgie breeders come in and talk about the shows. Will probably be at Doncaster on Sunday. Have a look at www.gardenfeathers.co.uk
  14. If you need a small harness for kid try mountain munchkins
  15. My comment wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. My point was that my prices have to include all the costs of running a legitimate business e.g. tax, rent, rates, insurance, accountancy fees etc. I think people should charge whatever they like for their logs as long as it's a level playing field. A lot of people seem to think its fine just to do a few cash in hand logs over the winter months.
  16. It's about time the tax man started knocking on doors
