  1. Looks good. If it starts, 50cc saw for that price. I would buy it.
  2. And maybe a tipple of Merlot
  3. That’s some intense colouring. What are you using on the wood?
  4. Very nice. What size is the slab?
  5. That looks great Gary and the saw! [emoji106]
  6. Yeah mate. [emoji106]my old boss helps me get em in the trailer for moving. But yeah extra hands is always a help. Starting to fill a small barn with all these slabs.
  7. I find it a lot easier with the ladder on each cut. Yes going in and coming off much better result. I also find less strain on the saw and less vibration along the way IMHO. Just means you have to add the ladder into the board thickness equation. [emoji106]
  8. Are you asking the community this question? Probably others on here who have sold a lot more than me, what sizes are the boards?
  9. The 881 feels more streamlined as a saw I suppose. Still breaking it in, but nice and easy start. Tidy looking. [emoji106]
  10. Yep a real pain, something pretty big in the middle of the trunk. Some hefty lugs in there I reckon. Bloody thing..... But the 881 is certainly a joy to use. Going to have to get a panther mill and a lot more chain soon.
  11. Started on oak today, hit iron a couple of times. Ripped off some cutters and snapped another chain. But got some boards done. Using the 881 with 64” bar.
  12. Great colour!
  13. Sounds great [emoji106] thanks.
  14. Very soggy at the moment, driving rain. Ducks are happy though.
  15. Even half that price would be big money TBF, IMHO.
  16. How do you work out the prices? I’m keen to get the right money selling oak slabs, etc... I know board feet has been discussed on here a few times. But some websites are selling oak slabs smaller than ones I’ve got for almost 1k each.... crikey big money.
  17. What sort of price did you sell that for? If you don’t mind me asking?
  18. Snowdrops are out
  19. The old girl is still going well!
  20. May well be mate. Yes please do ask if you see them again. I was hoping they might nest in the reeds down here. Would be a nice Spring treat to have some signets swimming around the pond. If they turn up back here I will let you know.
  21. We had a pair of mutes on our pond for a couple of weeks until yesterday down in Sussex. I wonder if its the same pair. LOL!
  22. Yes that’s probably right, but behind that is the problem of not enough food in nature for birds to eat in the first place because England is pretty much an ecological desert. Having stripped out most of the woodlands and meadows we now find ourselves in a bio diversity crisis. Not to get political about it. Just saying. [emoji106]
  23. I see 1 or 2 a year but that is it. Shockingly we are still killing off our wildlife with toxic fertilisers and chemicals and still destroying habitat despite the fact that we know this has to stop.
  24. Nice, yeah they are really pretty looking little birds and great song. The finches are all really nicely coloured I think. Greenfinch are great, but unfortunately they are decreasing in numbers due to loss of habitat....
  25. Grey wagtail from last summer feeding on a damselfly and goldfinch from the other morning.
