  1. Not sure if it’s a face or the other end....
  2. Yes Stubby. You’re right, yellow poplar is one of the names the Yanks give to the Tulip tree, because over there I guess it grows like poplar. In reality the Tulip tree is actually part of the magnolia family. I only know this because we planted an Avenue of Tulips on the estate I work on, so I researched the tree.
  3. It is a tulip tree, but with leaves like that I think that’s the oriental version. Liriodendron chinense - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  4. Looking beautiful that sequoia. Crikey mate!
  5. They got a move on. [emoji106]
  6. Very nice find. [emoji106]
  7. He's got quite a few vids. Thanks for the tip.
  8. Cheers mate. Will do.
  9. Normally numbered tags on trees are there from tree surveys done in the past or present. However it might be something different if you are talking forestry or something, I only know them as regards numbers that correlate to a tree survey, put on there by an arb consultant.
  10. Moor hens nesting on the pond.
  11. Milled up some short posts and then had them finished on the table saw for fencing.
  12. Cheers mate. [emoji106]
  13. Mallard ducklings growing up
  14. Fantastic looking colours. Surprised to see that on sycamore.
  15. Is it Kretzschmaria? Lime is quite susceptible to this. I've lost a couple of old limes recently with it. Kretzschmaria deusta - Google Search G.CO
  16. Hard to pick one favourite. Where I work we have a very majestic Cedar of Lebanon which is just absolutely beautiful and enormous at over 8 metre girth and growing and particularly tall. But otherwise probably fondest memories as a kid climbing (what seemed large at the time) an old mulberry tree which happened to be on the estate I grew up on, no idea how old the tree was but the house was built in 1664 and had old greenhouses, etc... Otherwise I would say the big horse chestnut tree we used to climb as kids, it was in one of the farmers fields and the enjoyment of playing conkers for hours at a time with friends. Brings back old memories.
  17. Not sure about the hammocks and things hanging from the trees of that size, but they probably don't appreciate that too much. However from the photos you have of the pear tree, can't see much. Potentially honey fungus, have you noticed any mushrooms growing around the base at any time?
  18. IMG 7249 https://youtu.be/ptBeBfNNoEY A couple of young badgers out in the woods.
  19. What contact do you use to get hold of someone for the Frontier Sawmills. I have tried the email on their UK site but it bounces back. Cheers.
  20. Very nice find there Gary. Not seen that before.
