  1. Tooling for manufacturing only Stubby, or for sharpening your chain whilst out in the woods etc?
  2. Well oddly enough, i have a few bars (not as long as yours by the sound of it, longest i have is a 20”) and some bars have holes in and some don’t, all mine are rollomatic E bars so just standard laminated bars. I’ve just googled it and apparently it seems the hole is used in manufacturing but then pressed back in afterwards. ?‍♂️ no idea or anything conclusive for ya really. Someone with greater knowledge and better understanding on bars may be along shortly.
  3. Do you mean what is highlighted in the picture has dropped out?
  4. Not a pro cutter like most of you are but have and use 018, 021, 026, 036, 044 (my 044 is rough though and requires some tlc)
  5. How come its only happened to the one though?
  6. Get it back if hes still willing [emoji6]
  7. [emoji15][emoji33] AV or AV Super!? Either way, you’d prob be looking at a £700 - £800 upwards saw i rekon!
  8. Its wrinkly and old...... its just up your street! [emoji6]?
  9. Build your own! Your more than capable!!! I’ve been following your build so far and your not shy on welding skills or future proof thinking ideas, you’ll piss it. And you always get that self satisfaction at the end, when ya stand back and look at it in operation and the thought....... “i did that” pops in to your swede and a big grin appears on your face! [emoji106] plus you’ll know it inside out.

  11. Stick with it. The talk above is a generalisation on what would happen if changes WERE made. I’m still learning with it all, enjoying it too [emoji106]
  12. Nice one Stere, that last paragraph answers what i was kinda pondering regards a saw being used for milling and the possibilities of wear / damage occurring to the bearings due to it being on its side. I get there is vacuum and pressure workings in the crankcase when running regards lubrication. But it still made me wonder as gravity surely must play a part on the uppermost bearing on a saw when milling.
  13. Me too regards oil and rebuild, it tries to find the power i.e is made to work harder due to the fuel mix being leaner because of extra oil in mix, so intake of air is increased as it is gasping, which in turn ramps up the temperature. Bit like someone putting their hands round your throat, you gasp for more air and in turn you turn red and get all hot and bothered.
  14. Hollywood! Could think of nothing worse!
  15. They say dogs are like their owners! [emoji6]
  16. Struggling a little Chessa...... been on the sauce, and now all is looking wonky and blurred from a far! ?
  17. More oil, leans out the fuel, more air drawn to compensate, saw trying to find lost power, heat increases, bore suffers, from intake side more so, whilst smoking its knackers off, then the inevitable happens! A bearing implodes due to heat and stress and takes everything else out, or cylinder cops it resulting in eventual seizure and outward stress to cause everything else to shat itself. (Exaggerated worst case obviously)
  18. Do your tests J honestly. Another asset to ya. Just think of the size of mill you could lug around with ya [emoji6] nation wide etc! Or transport your own to and from, or collect to bring in from..,,, collect from the port (if brexit allows [emoji23][emoji23]) etc etc, machinery hauling, other haulage jobs?! Can tax month by month now dont forget so dont need to tax it for 6 or 12 months anymore. It’ll be on your insurance regardless. Loads you could do J!!! [emoji108]
  19. Yeah me!!! Ya flash get! [emoji6]
  20. Pass! ?‍♂️ you’d know better than me, i just know i was pissed off after travelling to wigan/liverpool everyday (depending on allocated depot) for two weeks solid, was mentally draining and tiring at same time [emoji30] and to end each week on a test too! Glad when it was done. Passed C with 2 minors and CE with 1 minor, was well chuffed ?
  21. Had a few bits off him, always as described and good for the money [emoji106]
  22. 13-7-07 for C and 17-8-07 for CE, bizzare cos i did my tests week after each other, C was in a volvo F6 i think and CE was in a FL10, both with manual box. I believe you can now take your test in an i-shift and still claim a manual licence from it if you passed your car test in a manual? Scary cos auto wagons vary hugely from manuals. And you know what its like when you start stirring soup and playing the juke box on a hill [emoji849][emoji6]?
  23. Did it out of simonswood (if thats how its spelt) test station, its shut now also i think, my C tutor (Rodger) died of cancer about 8yrs ago and my CE tutor (Ken) got diagnosed with it about 2 yrs ago. Shitty and sad news ☹️
  24. C first then CE, i think ? was 13 or so years ago since.
