  1. Ones in labs not the ones in the cult [emoji23]
  2. By having kids you know you could create brain bustling scientologists to evade all the bad happenings in this world! It’s true you know.... I’ve been forcefully told so [emoji6][emoji39]
  3. PM ya [emoji106] save the derail
  4. Regards the flue, only negatives are if you burn it unseasoned it will still have a high sap content, which would leave deposits on your liner. Well seasoned, 2yrs plus from average out in the air drying will present no issues, (imo) i burned some last year that was 18+ months seasoned and it was fine. The saw decision will be purely down to your own preferences. I prefer older saws to new, but i dont mind tinkering, its in my nature. But take time and listen to advice of all, after all its potentially a big investment for ya.
  5. Hgv mechanic, but brought up on a farm. Love the older stuff and love listening to the senior more experienced guys on here. Learn loads [emoji106]
  6. Good shout on the pants [emoji106] and if money cant stretch to the 241 / 261 then maybe look a good condition older saw, 034 / 036 maybe?, like you though Conor, i’ve not experienced husky’s. Stubby may along shortly with some of his husky porn tales [emoji6].... ooh he gets me all in a tis when he starts, love it!!! [emoji16]
  7. Funny you should mention 15” swinny, [emoji849] i could of sworn i had a 15” bar for my 026 so ordered a couple of chains..... tosser me!!! It was a 16” bar i had [emoji23][emoji23] so ordered a couple of 16” chains as worked out cheaper than buying a bar ? love my 026 though and no regrets with the 16” in the end at all.
  8. I came off 18” on my 026 and went to 16”, i’m not an everyday cutter but noticed a difference in the saws capabilities. (Running .325 full chisel chain, not tried semi yet as been more than happy up to press and tend to powerwash any dirty wood i get beforehand anyhow)
  9. I never received my cap and sandals! [emoji15] And to say i defended you against all members on here over you senile tendencies. How rude!!! [emoji39]
  10. Personally, mityvac for vac testing, if you go the whole hog and buy the mv8500 the fullest kit they do then its typically £65 ish. Trouble with buying cheaper branded vac guns is they wear and leak on their internals and become fit for bin only. You can buy service kits for the mityvac apparently, but haven’t required one yet personally. Honing...... i’ve only done what you already do on 2 stroke engines using fine emery/scotchbrite pads. Spud and others maybe able to offer more advice. I’ve honed plenty hgv engine bores in my short existence though.
  11. Garden hire spares £86.62 for 372 meteor pot & piston kit. I’ve used them a lot, excellent service. Still offering free carriage too.
  12. Sad, but one way of looking at it i suppose. How are ash trees outside of the uk fairing?
  13. I used to use one shots in to 5L containers, i’m now on stihl green super with measuring dose on container in to a 1L mix bottle, as to keep my petrol oil mixes fresher as i dont use things mega often and to cut down on waste too. I’m only a messer tho as you already know ?
  14. Sad indeed. It appears from reading bits here and there, that once there is a sign of it then thats kind of it!..... is there any evidence at all anywhere that shows any Ash trees that have shown signs of recovery?
  15. Fell em appears to be easy answer from powers that be. Does chalara (if thats spelt right) affect any other species in any way? Total novice here.
  16. Over oiling (imo) would not help ring / piston to seal better but to eventually aid in glazing the bore resulting in poor performance, sticking rings (from emulsified oil/carbon) To increase oil amount would mean increasing air/fuel ratios to compensate and keep up with performance??? I’m not following [emoji848] I say if recommendations are 25:1 30:1 50:1 whatever.... then live by it but just use the highest quality oils available to aid it. ?‍♂️
  17. Its a multifuel stove, but when installing it we had to drop the box from inside the stove and swap out / replace the original adjustment control slide with the modified defra control one. HONESTLY.... its the worst piece of engineering known to man! And cost £110 (its a hole punched / pressed piece of steel with a very poorly welded on lever for left/right control) Would of been better left alone. It serves no purpose other than to loose over half of the open / shut control of the stove, and like i say, lets copious amounts of air through. I have been tempted to refit the original control but have refrained form doing so for insurance and regulation purposes. But listening to most on here it appears that no insurance companies are bothered???! I do try to play by the rules in most cases but this one has tempted me loads.
  18. You would be liable Conor, cos you are the point of contact and direct employee of the client, even if your not doing the job yourself, hence you’ve subbed it out. You should really have EL.
  19. Micks employer i would say mark, (same guy who sent the labourer)
  20. Hey OSP, the one in the house is great, no complaints other than it still draws (imo) that little bit too much air. It produces a roaring flame, not what i’d call a gentle rolling flame. And in turn over a period would burn more logs than necessary, and makes room temperature hard to control and at times, unbearable. If i was to put coal on for an overnight burn, then the fire would be out in the morning. I’m talking 7 hours and all embers are gone it draws that much. This is due to the defra kit. Cant and wont complain on its efficiency and emission control, never get a blackened glass and the ash bed is always even and hardly any! (Pain sometimes when i clean stove out cos wood relies on good bed to draw)
  21. Not gospel but..... I’d go with who ever supplies the final bill for the job is the key person to carry liabilities. i.e If you put a rent in for £1k as a subby to do a job for (as before “joe blogs”) and joe bloggs send a man in to help, hes paying you and the additional bod. Its all his bag whatever happens! If you put a rent in for £1k and you do the job all on your own, book stops with you as far as 1st claims go. But ultimately the liabilities are with joe blogs still as he will in the end be cashing up with you, so in turn you would have to chase recompense off him then. (IMO)
  22. Bad idea Rough! You’ll end up with men in paper suits erecting a tent over your piles displaying quarantined area and then you’ll be slapped with a legal bill. Land mines sound like a better option.
  23. You cant contract out liability! If your doing a job for “joe blogs” and you get hurt or cause injury to someone under joe blogs’s command (which you are as your doing the works for him even as a subby with your own insurances etc) then he is responsible for the outcome. IMO you were the greater friend of the two by not perusing..... 3 months off work with no pay, i’d of chased for something. Glad your mended and back in full swing.
