  1. why not buy a track barrow, then mount the cs100 on the chassis of it? well below the weight limits of most track bases, can stay garden gate width, coukd even make a ramp and put a small winch on the barrow. pull the cs100 onto it, move to where you want it then roll it off. use barrow to move logs, then load up the chipper again
  2. Dealers should have big drums that we can then go in and refill our own fuel cans. much greener solution, should work out cheaper too as less plastic involved and shipped in barrels not pallets of bottles. Dealers could sell an approved buy once bottle for punters to buy it for home use. Could even be taxed different for agricultural use?
  3. Swapped after getting headaches on still days so fumes hang around you. only saw that caused issues is my 236 husky, was running it on pump fuel so will strip and rebuild the pipes and filters etc. cost difference is negligible when you can work more efficiently without a foggy head so time saved and less running tool time.
  4. You could make something out of Ply or sheet metal pretty easily... keep the bottom of the bar slot on it open so sawdust falls through, could even hang it on the outside of the basket to keep space inside just add a tether in case you knock it off
  5. 4-5000 is pushing things for a 50cal round... i don’t think a .22 will go that far,
  6. Like climbing wire, seems to run ok with my rope wrench and vt or distel. useless to try knotting so you can’t swap to DRT if that’s your thing. really happy with it for SRT work
  7. dewalt, spend double what you mention above and you get a decent drill, very good impact driver 50kn version plus charger and a couple of batteries. No point in scrimping on these as they should last you years. the difference between a £50 and £100 driver is huge!
  8. Is that the lesser known ‘my bars too narrow so both cut from a side each’ technique?
  9. mines been faultless. like the bigger bar option as it will take up to a 28” bar. light saw for the power so not too much work if using it up a tree.
  10. Managed to tag and damage the tail on my lanyard yesterday, so it’s now a lot shorter.. going to get a spliced eye version this time as it’s one less knot and a cleaner harness/less snags. when i looked a 9m version isn’t much more than the shorter ones and certainly cheaper than buying 2 spliced chunks of rope. will cutting it to say a 3m and 6m invalidate anything or cause me loler pains? only one will have the ce info on it...
  11. WD40 in the truck. wet day, quick squirt job sorted
  12. just make a loop with your length of cord? or do you mean making a prussic using the other end of the rope?
  13. neoprene road bike gloves. if they get wet you stay warm. strong enough to last a while when climbing. would put something else on if thorns etc are about. hand warmer pouch things are good when it’s really cold, stuff then down the back of the gloves
  14. i need to try that hitch... using a VT at the mo and even with extra wraps it’s almost touching the wrench when sat back. just had some cord arrive to experiment with cord length too.
  15. what friction knot do you use with a tether that short?
  16. If you have enough work to pay your bills then pick and choose your jobs to match the hours you want, everyone’s different. site/none office work is normally a early start from my experience. when i built VW’s the week running up to a show was lucky to see 3-4hrs kip a night the rest was in the workshop. graft when needed. collie puppy needing a walk before work gets me up at 6 every day
  17. most tank trucks will do 15-18mpg wether loaded or towing etc similar to a landie i’m told
  18. similar position and looking at supercabs, prob american, low mileage from home so not worried about a big motor. tow great too. yank stuff has bigger beds. 8ft is easy to find. having the mini rear seats gives you a lockable area for tools and climbing kit etc. single cab means it’s all in the bed and open
  19. Hi, do you have any near sutton Coldfield? got a job for a friends new place plus his neighbour so won’t get everything on. donate button needed!
  20. 2-3 people for squirrels. one either side of the tree staying still, the other moves around and distracts said squirrel.. air rifle first then shotguns for moving tree rats
  21. i have a modded crossman ratcatcher running 11ftlb in .22 and it’s deadly out to 35yds which with squirrels and headshots is more than enough. a .177 just gives a flatter trajectory but less retained energy.
  22. Air rifle, no license needed. or i shoot some land under the owners permission for pest control with a shotgun and air gun. leave it to someone like me who will do it foc and should have PL insurance ( costs me £25 a year) find a local gun club or ask farmer friends if they have anyone they trust. traps need lots of checking so can be very time intensive where are you based?

    knee pads

Try Alpinestars paragon knee pads. slim fitting and lightweight. none restrictive.
  24. 562, powerful and lightish. auto tune so no carb tinkering needed
