Saul its not about the animosity and having a go and all the rest of it,it,s just that you presumed it was the reason the crank shaft was bent(on the 361) you,ve no proof it was that, but also the way you went about telling the OP about how to tension/detention and all the rest of it,you make it sound like it,s rocket science,i,m not up for arguing on this forum but i really don,t think what you,ve said on this occasion is right

Sorry but i just cant see it being the reason,i had to go to my mates this afternoon to pick up something and he worked for a local saw shop for 20 years and mentioned it to him out of interest and he laughed and said no chance

Saul what makes you say that not detentioning the chain can possibly bend the crankshaft,cos i,ve never heard or experienced it

Noticed there’s a lot of berries this year,masses of rose hips and sloes,also a lot of holly and hawthorn,but very few acorns,the olduns used to say it’s a sign of a hard winter

Why rub oil on the bar with a rag?i,ve used saws for a good 35 years and never done any of that shit,and definately never detentioned a chain and NEVER bent a crank or heard of anyone else doing it because of this
