  1. I’d be more than happy with that cost and probably tell you it’s too cheap and offer more. If you still have them? Strip them down, put in a couple of boxes and give them back to him? Tell him that apparently the repair costs would be to much🤔
  2. Many years ago when I reloaded rifle bullets for stalking I used crushed walnuts in a small tumbler to clean and polish the empty cases first.
  3. I never have hired in a chipper but I think there’s a good call to open up and inspect blades when taking delivery. I can see the hire company blaming the hirer in this case? “ it was all checked before you hired it”, what does it say on the hire agreement?
  4. I’d go for the biggest every time, you’ve got the transport sorted so 500kg difference makes no difference. Get the 20.10, in 6 months you and those looking to hire in a platform will want a 23 or 30mt.

    Deposits

Electricians and plumbers are asking superstar wages so I suppose money upfront can be considered appearance money? Also Circuses want payment upfront🤔
  6. Glad the main point is cleared up? I thought OF was a further abbreviation of F OFF😳

    Deposits

Never take a deposit even if using hired platforms or cranes. One thing I did ask recently when asked to quote for a job by an existing customer who’s recently been bought out by a USA conglomerate - was - what are the payment terms now they’re owned by the Americans? Those buggers can expect you to work months before payment😳. Still a week after invoicing so that’s ok.
  8. I’m no mettalurgest but as above and something as reacted with the alloy. Yes the anodising does protect the metal underneath but I’ve got alloy crabs and rings on harnesses where the finish has worn off and have a polished finish but they’ve not broken down like the alloy in the phots. I’ve seen motorbike rims and alloy parts that have broken down when exposed to wet/ damp conditions but for years. Not months? One thing for sure I would have stopped using that harness a long time ago and sent it back to the manufacturers?
  9. Still a bit damp by the looks of it? May be best just to run over it with the mower set on high?
  10. The gob and backcut does look to be in that direction🤔
  11. I’ve got poor eye site - I thought they were flares? Pleased to hear there was an initial plan🤔
  12. Don’t really see the point of this procedure? Just creating a problem. If the trees going that direction why not just remove pergola first. Far less effort and safer?
  13. He did convert to Christianity? They gave him £25 every time he turned up for bible lessons🤔, who wouldn’t if it helped hoodwink the Immigration morons and of course the Christian’s who thought they had converted him!
  14. Agreed. However there are some pleachers of a reasonable size with some length. Cut the bigger stuff off at ground level. Lay the live pleachers and import some filling material to thicken the hedge up and fill the gaps. Then there would be new growth from the pleachers and the stumps? The best option would of been to cut the lot off at ground level, plant the gaps up with some quick, stock proof fence both sides. Keep on top of the rabbit population and come back in 10- 15 years to lay properly. The problem is high cost?
  15. Special Arborist Services or even Shit and Sawdust ltd
  16. Exactly, work is work?
  17. He says the play is on the clutch side so presume it’s the crank bearing behind the clutch. With a new 500i at £1300 plus it’s got to be worth fixing.
  18. This could be start of a quiz🤔
  19. Those Peltor ones are approx twice the price of Pfanner protos units and look the size of half a brick😳
  20. Ran transit tippers 20 years ago and they served me well. Then went Land Rover and trailers as client base changed. They’re definitely not as reliable as transits though😳. 10s of thousands of builders can’t be wrong and why do you think ikies run them - they want something that’s 100% reliable as a stealth truck and a get away vehicle 🤔.
  21. I admire your ballsy way of working. By 3 phase I presume you mean 11 or 33kv lines? Your local network must know you really well to give you the go ahead to clear trees that are “growing up through the power lines”. Expect them to come back to you to take on a lot more because you’ll save them a fortune from having to do shutdowns?
  22. What year is it? If it’s a later one shouldn’t the end of the Spline Drive Bottom Roller you’ve pictured there finish flush with the outside of the roller box? This then allows the motor splined shaft go all the way into the drive roller? With a small section green plastic spline bush sat between the roller box and spline drive? Has it been rebuilt recently? Are the top and bottom roller mixed up on reassembly at some time because it doesn’t look right which I’m sure you’ve realised.
  23. At least being where you are- you can jump in the truck with a trailer on and collect a platform from all these countries without getting stung for tax on top and high delivery costs like the UK😳
  24. That’s all a load of bull! Reports last week that they were clearing ecologically important forests to feed the Thanet and Drax hunger for Canadian wood🤔. Only a matter of time before the supply chain from there is turned off and the government and general public wakes up and realises that’s the whole project is only viable(to investors) because it’s financed by public money - our money! The government as finally realised that gas power stations are a must because they can be turned on and off to meet electricity demand surges unlike wind and solar.
  25. That’s all well and good Mick? The problem comes when you do a search for a “common sense” video on YouTube 🤔
