  1. When the protests against the banning of fox hunting took place in London several of the countryside alliance and others were batten charged and received a right battering from the police under the direction from Blair, with several put in hospital. Don’t see this happening with these yogurt eating lefties and associated journo’s.
  2. Funny how she was on hand to report what was happening, as it happened? Did she have prior knowledge that it was going to take place, was she complicit in the activity(which was as it happens - unlawful !) did she incite them at all for the storey, is she one on them. Fortunately I have not been affected by these tossers - yet! Your unlikely to be affected either as you sit in your Yurt on The Moors above Leek or wherever. But we know that thousands are. As I’ve said before are these people living totally off grid in caves totally independent and unreliant of anything that’s Oil/ petro chemical based. Let me guess 🤔, answer - NO. Bloody hypocrite’s. eggs, you post a lot of sense and more often than not I agree with you, this time I don’t.
  3. A copper got hit off his bike by a truck and could of been seriously injured or killed all because a bunch of dickheads climb on a gantry above a motorway. The press are giving them the publicity they’re looking for. The police and the Uk laws are also protecting these people because I’m sure there’s a few people in the traffic that would like to hang these protestors from said gantries🤔. Can’t see the French police putting up with this crap. I think the police are being quite restrained. If it was the Countryside Alliance protesting in London they’d be battering them with batons and tear-gas - fact - they did😫.
  4. Surely you’ll only go bust if your asset’s are less than what you owe and someone wants their money back from either a cash loan(banks) or in terms of kit on finance and you can’t service the re-payments. Smaller operators with little or no kit on finance or loans will just have a shorter week. I’m not trying to make light of it but going bust and having less work are two different things as far as I’m concerned.
  5. Don’t waste your time reading this book, I already know who did it🤔. It was the ‘do as ya likies’ obviously🙄.
  6. And people wonder why the needles have dropped off by Boxing Day🙄
  7. If your anchor is at the top of one of the tallest USA Coastal Redwoods and it broke and it didn’t hit any more limbs on the way down you’d probably have about 10 secs before it hit the ground? Doesn’t give a lot of time to do much really except swear! If your below half way up and your other anchor is near the top and nothing hits you - you might get away with it. Of course that doesn’t allow for the increase in velocity the further it travels? So with all the finest scientific brains working it out you could have a few seconds either way. Ask the AA, they no doubt thought about this possibility when they presented their thoughts on using double ropes with the HSE 🤔.
  8. It all depends on how many sleepers high and if it’s backfilled and with what? doobins example only looks to be about 2 sleepers high? And with the crescent shape will give extra support. Straight run, 4 ft into ground, 3 or 4 sleepers high, back filled with soil to top, will more than likely push over. Large secure/ tensioned Duck/ ground anchors near the top of the steel would help.
  9. Hope he’s alright Eggs, and you all come through this period.
  10. Colleges looking for work experience/ placements generally have to visit your premise’s to ensure it meets minimum requirements for HSE, factories acts , various insurances, etc. they will sign you off and ensure you are suitable. If they haven’t - they’re not carrying out due diligence and are winging it. Can’t believe Sparsholt haven’t done this already or are at least intending to🤔.
  11. Meanwhile as it all happened Starmer was addressing the TUC conference - showing his true colours, he’s not behind all the strikes then and supporting them. Sacking MP Sam Tarry for appearing on a picket line was all a smoke screen. The IMF agreed that what Truss proposed with the economy was the right thing to do in the long term but we didn’t have the time for it to take effect. In this country we have the press propaganda and their will rammed down our throats, they do not report on the economy of countries such as Germany, France, Italy etc which although not as bad as ours is still grim. Biden had the gall to criticise Truss about her economics while all the time he’s propping up the US economy with lies and smoking mirrors because the mid term elections are looming? He can’t keep the bullshit on their economy going for too long and it’ll come crashing down. Some people seem to forget the cost of covid, manufacturing suffering across the world with supply chains interrupted as a result, war in Ukraine and the cost of fuel of all types rising, the US/ Canada trade war forcing the US to buy most of their timber requirement from Europe causing a 50% rise in our construction timber costs. Let’s blame the government for it all because that’s simplistic. I thought Truss was a lame duck before she was elected. Starmer as not come up with one credible idea since he was made The Labour leader. The only decent Labour leader was John Smith. Just think of what might of been? If he hadn’t passed away in 94 it’s likely that Blair and Brown wouldn’t of been the prime ministers who took us into an unjust war and sold our gold reserves. Bring on The Labour shitshow as we all need a break from the negativity. We’ll all stop moaning then. Won’t we? Will we?
  12. You’ll have condensation with a tin roof. 2 degree is about 100mm fall in 3.00 metres, why not use chipboard as a decking and cover in a EPDM Rubber Membrane. It’s easy to install and with a long life.
  13. Can’t wait for Labour to get back in power. Here’s a sample of what we’re likely to get from them- Labour MP Peter Dowd as tabled a motion for all workers to be entitled to a 32hour, 4 day week and 1.5 times hourly rate for overtime😳. All at a time when there aren’t enough workers for jobs and companies are struggling as it is. Unlikely to get a passed because the Tories do currently have the majority but what would happen if Labour get in🤔. That’s just one shit idea and Labour have lots more. Guess what Dowd is the MP for Bootle😳now there’s a surprise!
  14. What 3 new Tory MPs that haven’t been elected🤔
  15. You probably did it at the wrong time? You should go round and round the mulberry on a cold and frosty morning for best results🤔
  16. Fair play to him for going out of his way and getting her some proper help👍. Some would of worked around her and stacked the brash as a screen.
  17. Not unusual for police to just issue a crime No and do sod all else.
  18. Insurance company paid out in less than 2 weeks😳, they should be recommended- who were they, are they one of the main ones?
  19. It’s only a 4/5 month season isn’t it? What you going to do the rest of the year? It’s not as if you can start off in the south and work north to Scotland as the region comes into play like sheep shearing🤔. I suppose if you can earn £300 a day gardening down south like some on here apparently do then you can take the rest of the year off.
  20. Can’t see why these young trees would want aerating anyway, looking at the small area of grass it’s not as if there’s lots of foot traffic or animals in the area of the root system( better phots would help). One tree as had the turf removed which would help, the fact that the watering system is open doesn’t help cos that speeds up the drying out of the ground, especially this summer with the extreme heat, they should be sealed. Remove the ratchets if the trees are established. Don’t think the planters can be blamed in this instance, unless there’s a maintenance contract linked with the planting🤔.
  21. Are they possibly there as a bracing system? One photo shows a steel hawser with a made off eye, left in place till tree established then ratchet strap loosened off and possibly pulled out. As Mick say ratchet strap won’t stop root growing(they’ll grow around it) but will stop base of trunk developing much the same as a girdled root
  22. The last lot of cretins in Kensington were apparently from Scotland , be interesting if they tell us exactly how they made the journey without using any oil based products🤔.
  23. Strange how a misspent youth can make one wise to police procedures🤔
  24. You’ve recited that word for word! Have you heard it a few times yourself 😂
