    GB Bars

    Photos don't lie mate???
  2. Think I pay about £8-£10 for a stihl one. Why buy crap?
  3. It's easy. Put a 3/8 rim sprocket on. Done. (With the duromatic bar). Just need to work out how many drive links... [emoji106]

    GB Bars

Got the 48" stihl, 56" GB and 84"GB. All have different uses. I started milling on the 880 with the duromatic bar. Absolutely fine. Never even needed an aux oiler. Then I got GB bars.... Yes there is a big difference. Now I only use the duromatic for cross cutting huge trees and stumps. [emoji106]
  5. Ooooh Sunday lunch has arrived. [emoji16][emoji106]
  6. The piece with moss on top is probably oak. [emoji106]
  7. I use alkylate petrol, bio oil and cordless. Clients have no idea what im talking about. They only care about the price, how long will it take, and if you'll do a good clean up after. So in answer to your question: A: No. Most clients are not interested in the emissions of your business. B: Yes. They probably should be. Good luck [emoji106]
  8. I'm presuming it's 85cc? If so should be able to run a 30"-36" bar 3/8. Maybe get a full skip chain if your going 36". [emoji106]
  9. I just sell them on now mainly. Do keep the odd bit for home. Yes there is a market for British hardwood boards. Just have to find who's local to you. If you have space to stack and dry it, you will find it much easier to sell. Oak is always a best seller. [emoji106]
  10. Yes you can, But you'd be better off with a dedicated ripping chain. Remember though a 28" bar will give approx 20" wide cut. [emoji106]
  11. You can still go to work and claim UC. I am. But I'm looking at 1 days work a week if I'm lucky.
  12. It's called "two part epoxy resin". There are many different qualities. Prices vary depending on quality. I don't use it myself, but most of my clients do. I hear prices vary from about £400 for 20 litres up to over £800. Cheap if you consider tables can sell north of 5-20k. [emoji106]
  13. Green English oak sleepers are £30-40. Dry will be very expensive.
  14. Stihl orange plastic ones available in different sizes and a pretty good. Or they do a hi lift [emoji106]
  15. Depends what you like. I don't mill sycamore very often. Plain boring grain mostly. That ash has olive colour to it, should be nice. [emoji106]
  16. 1st picture looks like ash. Not maple. Just ash. [emoji106]
  17. Phone hmrc, Say hi, I'd like to be SE. This my NI no. This is my address. That's nearly all they ask. They don't care. 2 weeks later you've got your UTR. But as various members have pointed out. SE is very difficult right now. ?
  18. If in doubt 50mm. [emoji106]
  19. 100kw sander 50kw small mill What are you running! Sounds mental! Could you post some photos of the mill and sander? I badly need to see a 100kw sander. ?[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  20. Don't trust diagnostics with old transits! Find an old boy who knows what he's doing. Otherwise you will be paying for lots of parts you don't need. I'm on my second mk6. [emoji106]
  21. My best recipe: Jambon au Porto (Ham in port) Roll up 10-15 large slices of ham 0.5-1kg. Place in oven dish. Make 1 litre of veg stock Cubes are fine Pan fry 100g of thinly sliced mushroom in butter. In a large pan melt 100g butter Add 2 desert spoons of plain flour whilst mixing on a low heat Then begin adding the stock whilst stirring. Add all stock and most of a tube of tomato purée. Add the mushrooms. Pour in at least a double shot of red port. Heat gently whilst stirring. When hot, pour oven ham. Put in an oven at 180c for 45 minutes. When cooked, pour another double shot of port over the top and stir in. Serve with French bread and butter. [emoji108]
  22. Rather slow growing. I'd definitely go and find some to dig up. [emoji106]
  23. This dead oak might be getting removed too. Mmmmmm[emoji7] [emoji106]
  24. You're probably right. (As per usual[emoji6]) But with the wonders of two mix epoxy resin table makers...[emoji7][emoji848] If it can be milled in one piece, it's probably worth it. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
