  3. Stihl 400 Stihl 462 Stihl 500i Personally I’d get a 462. Light and fast. [emoji106]
  4. I’ve got plywood bolted on [emoji106]
  5. I’ve heard about this. Any photos? [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  6. Yes. Whereabouts are you? 07376893384 [emoji106]
  7. Pin moisture meters are useless. If you can’t tell if a piece of wood is dry to burn when you lift it... Electo magnetic field moisture meters are much more accurate. And expensive. [emoji106]
  8. Today started with more robinia, Followed this afternoon with a nice 6’x2’ oak with a nice little surprise inside. As usual my go to set up: stihl 880 and the 60” panther mill for general slabbing. [emoji106]
  9. Had a go on Patrick’s recently, Really useful bit of kit[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  10. Nice rig Andy [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  11. Sadly the motors are seized. All dead. If we had years here, we’d fix em. [emoji106]
  12. I’ve used 30” and 36” bars on my logosol F2+. I get a mate with a 3’ stick to hold the bar horizontal until it’s in the wood. Now I mainly use 20” and 25” bars to cut square edge stuff and smaller slabs. To mill really big logs, You’ll need to build a log table inside your logosol just above to height of the lifting arms. Be careful of shock loading when turning the log. I’ve put a 1.5ton on mine. (Broke the log table) Milled it in half, then milled each half separately. Think the photos are on the today’s milling thread. [emoji106]
  13. Barstewards. I’ve taken up archery and paint balling recently. Oh and axe throwing. ????
  14. And this afternoon the burred robinia [emoji106]
  15. This morning we milled this nice bit of semi spalted wych elm [emoji106]
  16. Yes. It’s the same thing. Like ash and olive ash. It’s the phenols and Turpins from the tree fighting the infection that changes the heartwood colour. And price. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  17. Have you milled anything before? As that is a rather nice looking trunk of brown oak. Practice milling on some crap stuff first is my advice. [emoji106]
  18. Think I’m going to try the rabbit thing next time we run out. [emoji106]
  19. Bunny soft wipe every time? [emoji848]
  20. Hyper skip chain? Really good on long bars. Thinking of changing all my chains over 36” to it. And so quick to sharpen[emoji16] [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  21. We’ve moved this slab 5 times now. And the other 9 only 4 times. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
