  1. Any news on this chipper yet..?
  2. You're up early Pete..?
  3. Which roller is at fault on your 'bag of shit'...? I guess it's the fixed feed roller which is on the left when looking up the infeed chute ? If you crawl under the chipper , have a look at the hydraulic roller motor as there's a possibility the two cap head bolts have come loose allowing the motor to drop down and the drive gear to come out of engagement with the mating gear on the roller.. If not then you'll need a 10mm Allen socket to undo the two cap head bolts to drop the motor down, slip a thin piece of steel under the feed roller by crawling up the infeed chute (to support the feed roller). Now undo the motor mounting plate underneath by removing the four nuts and one 12mm bolt on the infeed chute mounting flange. Remove the plate and the piece of steel holding the roller up (Which you previously put there). Lower the feed roller and inspect the female drive gear and it's securing bolts..it should be obvious by now where the fault is.. If it's the moving roller then simply remove the two cap head bolts , again using a 10mm Allen key socket and lift the motor clear and inspect the spines on the motor and roller. These rarely fail though.. I hope this helps.....
  4. It sounds like you need a 'control valve end cap'..? From memory they're about £27.. Jase.
  5. That's great , thanks for letting me know Carl..
  6. How did you get on..?
  7. That sounds promising ..?
  8. Did you get it started..?
  9. Yes that's no problem Carl.. Out of interest is it fitted with an EHB ignition box (black box with idle , set and run buttons) or the RDS box with five buttons and a separate ignition switch .? Jase..
  10. Hi Carl , if you get that message as soon as you turn the ignition on then I would try a set of jump leads on the battery.. it could be just a flat battery. If this doesn't work then check the condition and tightness of the battery terminals and follow the battery leads and check they are tight at the starter motor and engine leg.. Also worth checking the fuses are tight in their in line holders. If you get the batt message when trying to crank then it's most likely a jammed flywheel.. Jase..
  11. The silver handle stays where it is, the flap folds down to the same angle as the base of the infeed chute. It's well above knee height.......
  12. That black 'plastic piece' is a document box.. I'd say the size of the opening is on a par with comparable chippers this size.
  13. It's a fold down flap..
  14. I'm sorry to read this and I'll be sure to pass these comments onto our parts department...
  15. Hi Rachel , I think blade sharpening is about a tenner a blade at GreenMech which I believe includes the return carriage cost..
  16. The spec for engine oil is from memory 15/40 mineral based. If you can't get mineral based then semi synthetic would be ok.. I've never heard of anyone fitting a water trap but it sounds a good idea.. It would be worthwhile fitting an inline fuel filter though..
  17. If you call 01789400044 then option for parts dept then speak to 'honest Pete'. He's old and will know these....
  18. Well we finally got to the bottom of this, it was the ‘crankshaft pulley damper’ that had failed ! I’ve had a few of these now on older Isuzu 4LE1 engines and they can be hard to diagnose, the usual giveaway being that the revs on the display fluctuate but the actual engine revs are constant.. much more difficult to find on an older chipper that may not have the revs displayed but ‘No-Stress’ lights instead.. Another symptom of this failure is engine overheating.! With a failed damper , if you try to turn the engine over on the cooling fan the crankshaft pulley outer section will actually freewheel on the innermost section of the pulley. And a new pulley is not cheap.... Jase.
  19. A CS100 locks onto it's own trailer..
  20. No problem, give me a call on Friday and yes it's a landline..
  21. I didn’t hear anything ?
  22. In the mean time if you need to use the chipper, if you simply remove the plug on the solenoid valve by undoing the single screw , the feed rollers should work. You will need to control the feed rollers on the red bar though if chipping capacity timber or you will stall the engine.
  23. If you can give me a ring tomorrow morning on : 01789400044 and I can talk you through re programming the box and hopefully that'll sort it..
