  1. Humane as in a clean shot and not an intentionally prolonged death, for example traps, poison or getting ripped to shreds by a pack of hounds. I hope this resolves your confusion.
  2. Only when they contradict themselves. I know, never mind, eh? BS. How many working class people can afford that kind of lifestyle? Horses, Poncy get-up's, the Dogs, the Dogs training, the land. You're delusional if you think its a sport for the common man. They may well tolerate a few peasants joining them to have a veneer of being for the people but thats about it. I agree with you here. The Scabs are certainly not the kind of people Id associate with. Im sure they fall into the same category as the insulate Britain mob. Attention seekers with little better to do with their time. Perhaps they are a necessary evil though as they appear to have single handedly had Fox Hunting Banned and enforce that ban far more than any Police Force would. The difference in my opinion is the word humane. I dont have anything against hunting, fishing or shooting of vermin. I dont Hunt but wish I had the time for it and I rarely fish for the same reasons. But I detest Fox Hunting or the "wink wink, we're just pretending today, woops the dog caught a Fox and we had to dig them both out the den and we could not stop the Dog ripping it to pieces" hunting.
  3. Bit blowy last night. Gardens a bit of a mess.
  4. Using that statement we can thus assume all illegal activity in the UK dropped to zero as soon as the ban was implemented. Its really good knowing there is zero murderers and rapes in the UK. Oh wait. Nonsense. Well doing just that has worked wonders in my neck of the woods. Some of the local estates go together and shot alot of foxes. Now there is no issues with them and I no longer even lock the chickens and ducks up in the evenings. Zero taken since they did the shoot. When the population builds again they will go out and have another humane cull. If you chose to believe that then thats on you. But its certainly not reality. Because on the whole its blood thirst upper class toffs who engage in this sport. If we where talking about Cock or dog Fighting then we'd be talking about underclass Pikeys. I dont agree. But I do find it amusing how your final thought contradicts your first.
  5. 100% agree.
  6. I live in the country, I was brought up in the country. I do not agree with Fox Hunting in the slightest and it should be completely banned and Id happily see anyone who partakes being issued lengthy custodial sentences. Fines are pointless, that just means legal with a price. There is simply no need for the sociopathic (as Kev mentioned earlier) torture of the Foxes for these peoples pleasure under the guise of vermin control. By all means control the numbers, but do so humanely.
  7. No, hence you kill all the rats you possibly can til your infestation is eliminated. Ive had two infestations in 4 years. Im sure I'll get another in time. But Dogs, cats and a water hose keeps them at bay. Im tapped? You're the guy that seems to be suggesting you ask the foxes nicely if it was they that carried out the latest attacks and if they say no then off they pop. Utter bonkers.
  8. What about rats? If you have an infestation of them do you suggest just bumping off a select few of them? Do you think that would solve your infestation issues?
  9. Yes, so utterly pointless. Just shoot them all.
  10. Would that person bring the Fox in for questioning? Maybe a lie detector test? 🤣🤣🤣
  11. He should bite your hand off at that. Not bad going for 'soft' Hardwood.
  12. That’s true. I was thinking green. As it’s semi-seasoned double that. 🤣
  13. What would he get per ton as firewood? Any less than that and you’re taking money out of his pocket. That in my mind is a good mates rate. £50-65 a ton? You’d be doing well at that I’d say.
  14. Well done Connor! And thank you very much Bill for your generosity and a bit of fun.
  15. Oh oh, the Remoaners aint gonna like this up them either. Britain BOOMS back from pandemic: Manufacturing soars to highest level since 1977, says CBI report | Daily Mail Online WWW.DAILYMAIL.CO.UK British industry has recorded a boom in orders this month with growth hitting its highest measure since 1977, as price...
  16. That does look very nice! I do like the nails showing too, very rustic. And since we're ina farmhouse and going for the rustic look we may emulate that.
  17. Pics would be great.
  18. Thanks for all the feedback guys. A lot of food for thought as there is some conflicting opinions. I think Id still like to go for it, but can see me keeping the lengths below 4m for ease of milling and to minimise movement. Think I'll still mill at 1-1/4" or 1-1/2". Hopefully make a start in the new year as I need to mill 50t of Spruce into 6" Beams to semi-season before Moulding into Log Cabin Logs. And thats after I get back from Norway doing that day-job for the next 3-4 weeks. The joys of having to put food in the table and not just play all the time.
  19. Later today. [emoji16]
  20. Initially I’d say 250-260kg. If it was Scottish (and therefore slower grown) Id not be surprised at 270kg. But there’s a bit of rot there so I’ll have to drop it a bit. So I’ll go 235kg, not including the scales.
  21. Brexit?🤣
  22. I burn a fair bit of Sitka Backs off the Mill. They're great in the kitchen Stove/oven as they provide a lot of quick but fast burning heat. Great for getting the oven up to temp and for heating the hot water. In the Living room we use a mix of Sitka and hardwoods and the Sitka really helps the hardwoods, especially Oak along.
  23. But if they just walked right into getting an operators job after getting their tickets and that’s actually what you want to do why take the long road and look to start cutting first?
  24. Seems a bit odd that if you know so many guys in the industry you’re having to ask your questions here?
