  1. Bit of a disaster with the Softwood Bridge from ther Log Deck to the Mill. It snapped with a Log on it. Will need to Make one out of 4" Oak or Beach next time. A few Cargo Straps soon got me going again.
  2. Whats a agricultural consultant when its at home? Sounds very vague and meaningless. A mate of mine is a vision technician , the reality is he's a window cleaner.
  3. Stihl also repaint Logrite stuff. Id put money on that yellow Ochsenkopf being a Logrite, the design is identical.
  4. Thats right. Its night and day.
  5. Junk as a real Cant Hook.
  6. I bought mine from here. Logrite Hookaroon, Canthook & Universal Log Stand WWW.ORIONFORESTRY.CO.UK Move your logs easily. Canthooks have two biting edges to get a good grip on the log. Hookaroons save your back and keep...
  7. Ive not seen that before? Makes no sense to me either. You'd not want any drag on the beam you use as a guide. Id back them off or Grind them Out.
  8. Ive got the 60" Logrite Cant Hook. Its very good. I also tried using the hook on my Stihl Felling Level and its total pish compared to a real Cant Hook.
  9. Bugger! My sole aim is to piss everyone off! Guess I'll just stay home for another week then, up my game.
  10. Im with you 100% here Les. Although I dont speak Gaelic I wish I had the inclination to learn. Learning Spanish, French or Italian would have not earned me one iota more than I do now. I dont even work in the UK and I dont need to learn another language. So for me learning another language would solely to be continue the existence of the Celtic languages, if I was not so lazy of course. Learning German is pointless, learning French is pointless, learning any European language is pointless. English is king. Want to learn a second language? Learn Japanese or Chinese.
  11. It is, but was also bought as a Plan B in case my Job went tits up off-shore. The idea being that I could make a little on the side to tide me over. Ive just been to lazy to actually drum up any business. Truth being Id do the same again if the Mill was a business purchase. My Mill is basically a Hobby version as it is. Any Smaller and Id be whittling twigs. It would be foolish to split the investment I made in buying an even smaller Mill and also a Forklift, which would not be needed as I could then only afford a Mill that would not need the use of a Forklift. Id Sooner make one large initial purchase and make do till I could afford a non-necessary but useful second smaller purchase than make two small but equally worthless small purchases. But what would I know? I just work off-shore.
  12. You're right, I walked down cash in hand, all in Scottish Pound Notes. Was a bugger dragging it back.
  13. I flew down and paid in cash.
  14. Superior human mind? Self confessed top Chippy? Are you Autistic? No insult implied, just a a genuine question. You seem to have a lot of Autistic traits.
  15. Yeh, I would have loved a fully hydraulic set-up too. Is never gonna happen. Im lucky I had the cash I did at the time for the Mill I have. The opportunity to spunk this kind of cash on a toy does not come around to often and I doubt it will again. Im hoping the lumber I produce will eventually mean the Mill pays for itself. We'll see. Although the amount of stuff I've now made out of Oak I've milled on the Logosol is building all the time. Over the last few days Ive resawn some 1" Oak Slabs to 8" and 14". Then made a Sandpit for the Kid. One that has a cover that flips out into a set of Benches. Infact I think Ive used the Mill to resaw more than Ive used it to Mill. [emoji3] Off to a Milling Job on Monday actually. Then have another few days Milling a Tree Surgeon guy I know. In exchange for Stump Grinding. Ive actually spent the last three days flat out Stump Grinding.
  16. My Mill was bought Cash, as I'll assume Daves was too......
  17. I cant currently. I maxed out my budget and then some getting the Mill I wanted. But then Im not Milling for money, just a hobby.
  18. Thats what Ive built. Although its a bit small its sunk into the ground at the back so its a small ramp to the rear but level with the Mill at the front. I do fell you're teaching Dave to suck eggs though.
