  1. Sounds like you've been to Union Square.
  2. I dont agree with that.
  3. I never mentioned Herd immunity. I said in a previous post, that I literally posted within the hour that those who are vulnerable should self isolate and let those who have a far lower chance of dying from the virus make their own choices. But, Im not against the Old doing their own thing if they are well informed and aware of the dangers that presents. Sign a deceleration or something.
  4. I dont know?`Im not an expert. Id say let them run free as long as they know the dangers involved and the fact they run the risk of not getting a ICU bed. To be honest they seem to be making the most of dithering around Tesco as it is.
  5. Ive caught six packed flights since this really kicked off. Id happily catch another 6. I work in very close proximity to work mates it really does not bother me as Im not fat, Im not old and I have no medical conditions other than a buggered neck and back. But yes, keep those who will be affected safe.
  6. Well thats certainly an opinion you've very welcome to hold. I agree that those most vulnerable should be self isolating. The Old(er), the fat, those with medical conditions that catching Big 'Rona might well kill them. Keep those ones safely wrapped in Cotton Wool. But let the rest of the UK back to work, back to School and back to getting on with it. The thing is the virus is not affecting me that much. Im doing everything I would normally do anyway. The only difference is longer trips away, but also significantly more pay. So my views on this is not from a selfish point of view, just the way I see it. Where I to view this mess from a selfish POV Id say keep the lock down going. Another round of Over Time when I next go back to work is most welcome.
  7. Its mental. Most bugs and illnesses families get seem to come from Schools. To put the Kids back to School and then to bring it home seems ludicrous. Might as well completely end the lock-down, which I for one dont have much of an issue with.
  8. A lot of people have said that. Myself included I expect. Unless we intend on living in a cave we’ve little chance of not buying a product that has in some way been made at least partially in China. But we can sure express our disdain for Chine and limit as much as practicably possible our purchases from there. It won’t last though, we’re too greedy.
  9. Then the West should do what the Chinese have always done. Ignore the patent and just copy it. Job done.
  10. As well as being happy to accept free Hard and Softwood logs I am always looking for Milling quality logs, or logs that could potentially be milled but could end up as firewood which I am willing to pay for.
  11. Will happily take Hard and Softwood good access for dumping. Will make a separate listing for paid Hard and Softwood that is of Milling Quality.
  12. Lovely story. Thats some cherished memories there. Must have been super exciting as a kid? I never knew my Granddad on my 'dads' side. He died when my 'dad' died when he was 3. My Grandfather on that side was Managing the Power Station in Trinidad, so my 'dad' was born there. He dies in his personal Aircraft. My Great Grandfather, as Ive mentioned in another thread, used to sneak me Snuff when I was 6 years old. Very occasionally mind. Id sup on his home made beer and he'd teach me how to make basic explosives. I used to sell a Weedkiller and Sugar Mix at Primary school. He showed me how to make Thermite with a Magnesium fuse. He also showed me how to make an explosive that when dried would blow the legs off of a Fly, but I cannot remember the recipe. One Story goes he was messing about with this touch explosive and used a newspaper in the process, cant remember why. Anyway, Nana (Grandma) used the Newspaper to draw the fire to get it to light and boom! No more eyebrows! He lived there since the second world war, after the war he was military police at Rosyth Navel Base. My 'Dad' lives in the same house. It has a lot of memories, with the apple tree in the Back.
  13. This is a 24” at the butt Stikka I’ve just loaded up. (The wrong way around, grrr) 18” at the other end. And my wee cart I use to move the beams around on. ? To make life easier on my back I slide the scabs off and cut them to size as I go then split at a later date to get bagged up. It’s a simple set up but therapeutic.
  14. One of the power options for the Logosol is 3ph I think? And plug and play the Logosol is not. Not for me anyway, took me nearly 3 days to get it pap on. There is a lot of adjustments to be made to get the Mill cutting true. Of course using the Bacho blades and the wavy cutting issue I was getting did not help matters. So Ive been through the adjustments a few times with a fine tooth comb. You need a few hand tools for setting up the Logosol Mill, the same as I expect you'll need for the Woodland, Norwood and Wood-Mizer Mills. Thats G-Claps, String, 24-36" Set Square, Engineers straight edge, Allen Keys, Spirit Levels ( I use a 2400mm scree level and a 350mm Magnetic Spirit Level) Wrenches etc. Oh, and a Forklift to lift the cutting head onto the Bed.
  15. If I could I would have bought the Logosol B1001, it looks like a very professional machine. The optional extras significantøly greater for the 1001 over the 751. I have the B751, its virtually the same as the B751 Pro, the main difference is the Pro has the same style of bed as the 1001, which is more robust. This allows the B751 Pro's Bed to accept a range of Options I simply cant get on the regular B751. It also makes the trailer package significantly cheaper than what I had to buy for the regular B751 as the Pro's Trailer Package is incorporated into the B1001 style bed the B751 Pro now has. The B751 Pro can come with a range of Power Options, 1 Electric and two petrol. Either a 13hp Briggs or their V twin with 18hp. I have the 13hp version and with the Ripper Blades even cutting the full Cant of 600mm in Oak it does not really struggle. Dont use the Bacho blades that Logosol recommend, they are to thin and flex alot The B751 Pro can handle a log up to 750mm OD, hence the name, but the Cant is 600mm. I find the build quality on the B751 very good, but then Ive not operated another Mill to compare it to. The range of adjustments is excellent and once you get your head around them you can really fine tune the Mill to within 1mm. You can take a very accurate and consistent veneer cut should you so with. Id recommend the B751 if you where milling smaller diameter Hardwood as I find it near impossible manually turning a 30" Oak log over 2m long manually and on my own, and at the same time checking the log is positioned squarely with a set square then locking it in place with the Log Clamps. Im currently milling 25-30" 4.5m Stikka Spruce and I can handle these on my own no bother. Where I to be regularly milling larger OD Hardwoods Id seriously consider the B1001 with the Log Turning attachment.
  16. Great idea! That will build good cognitive skills. I was taught by my great grandfather when I was about that age.
  17. Ive got the Wave and the Supertool. Love the Wave use it all the time.
  18. You're confusing our roles here I think. Are you drunk again?
  19. Shes a smart cookie thats for sure. Did her last end of year exam with contractions and we drove straight to the hospital after and she gave birth later that night. She still passed with a distinction. And all the while looking after a 17 month old full time too. No idea why she chose Quantum Physics other than she thought it would be interesting.
  20. I think it would be a fairly safe bet that very few here are proficient in Mathematics to the degree that a 16 year old is today. I simply do not believe that you would be in this minority. My Wife who is doing her Degree in Mathematics and Quantum Physics, so far to a distinction level says the Maths our 16 year old has to do is challenging. Im sure you'll have a snide remark about that but regardless, unless you are using or studying Math on an almost daily basis there is no way you'd get a pass of any relevance. I dont doubt you have a minimum in all your education. You 'once did an IQ test' which one? One of the hundreds of bogus tests you find all over the internet that massage ego's to harvest data or the Mensa test? The irony of your closing comment is laughable.
  21. A complete lack of punctuation and appalling grammar. I think your comment reflects worse on you than it does me.
