I dont need to crunch the numbers though do I? Are you honestly telling me you have a degree in Mathematics? Have you personally crunched any numbers and have them agreed upon by anyone in a qualified position? No? Thought not. Pointless and useless analogy, but this is the level I've come to expect from yourself. Irrelevant and hate filled soundbites of little substance.

Yes, we are. Only a fool would think they have all the answers midway through something. You've clearly made your mind up and nothing will change that. Thats the stance of a retard, the more you post the more you confirm that.
-
No, Im saying their actions up till now their actions, in hindsight, should have been emulated and can potentially be used in the future as a textbook reaction to a pandemic we've never had in living memory. But that is clearly not the whole picture. The whole picture will only be seen after we can draw a line under all the deaths caused by Covid-19 and this will include deaths due to economic collapse and such deaths as Cancer Patients not getting the screening or treatment they require due to prioritising Covid patients. Right now Germany is leading the way in Europe but once the full repercussions of the economic recession is fully accounted for globally maybe Germany wont look so rosy. This is of course speculation, but again, we're maybe not even half way though this thing so you and I are purely speculating.
-
Speculation is all we have right now. Until such a time as all the facts can be gathered and verified at a date in the future we're all just guessing. We're in the middle of the pandemic, we might not even be that far through yet you seem to have it firmly in your mind you have all the answers for today and the future of this. So I'll ask you, what facts are you using to support your conformation bias?
-
If you dont know Im certainly not here to educate you. Google it, or dont. I could not care less either way.
-
Germany was already in a recession, its was going to only get deeper with the UK leaving the EU, with Covid its gonna push Germany over the Cliff. With Germany falling off the Cliff deaths directly linked to this will surely follow. And I agree with you, Deaths are the real statistic but its way to early to say the tally has been counted. Only after all the data has been extrapolated, at a time in the future when we can draw a line under Covid -19 can we fully corrolate and confirm real statistics. : )
-
Finally! Now we're making headway.

The exception proves the rule. Surely you know that?
-
They really are an exception to the rule. We can surely look to emulate their response next time around. I think the answer lies in each represented countries Scientific Advisors. Germany's where right, the British Scientists where initially wrong. Interestingly their economy is set to tank significantly more than ours will. This will cost a lot of lives in the long run.

Hard of thinking? You can even spell accommodate right.

We're a vastly over populated Island, no thanks to your Komrade Blair. We're really not doing that much worse than the majority of the world. Sorry to burst your Tory hating bubble. The British Government could have done better. But your point blank refusal to give them any credit for anything, added to your abject hate for the Tory party again nulls your point of view, its as skewed as you could get. At least pretend to balance up your vitriol with a token conciliatory gesture. Do you honestly think another party would have handled the crisis better? If so which party and how would they have done better?
-
They are doing as well as the vast majority of countries around the world. But this is not what I was replying about as well you know.
-
So the Banks are not doing what the Government has told them to do yet somehow you're making this a Tory issue and adding some asinine comment that the Tories always use someone elses cash first? What?
-
Are they metal or plastic? I was under the impression they where Plastic, could be wrong though. I looked into getting them before but was told they are not all they're cracked up to be and the Miller would use up his stick of them and not bother again. Think you have to buy a tub of around 300 or something?

Home schooling - anyone else had a bit of a shock??
trigger_andy replied to Squaredy's topic in General chat
Im 100% the same. With two girls aged 19 and 16 who are also very head strong, petulant medium sized toerags who are smarter than me. I told the 19 year old that the word Pussy, used in a derogatory way is not in fact a dirty or bad word. Its a misconception many make. The word, as Im sure you're aware is an abbreviation for the word pusillanimous. Which means showing a lack of courage or determination, timid. Anyway months later she called me a Pussy for one reason or another and I gave her a right telling off til she reminded me of what the word means. Cant win with Women. And now I have another two little girls. ? -

I do agree, the modern education system sucks, its why we take such a active role in their education. At every parents meeting we ask the teachers what we could assist them with at home. Thankfully my Wifes the smart one out of us so she's been very studious with the kids. As shes also doing her Degree from home she's been able to help our 16 year old with maths and Physics, something Id not have a clue in. We also pay for additional tuition where needed to get them the best possible grade in their pre-lims and exams. It might sound very draconian but they have had instilled in them all their lives that learning can be fun and the older girls both have a career path they wish to go down and know the grades they need to hopefully get into their chosen field and University. -

Im shocked you expected the school to teach your children such basic things as the months of the year. Im always shocked that parents seem to expect the School to teach their children everything, often it seems this includes toilet training. Where are the parents when it comes to homework? At 9 years old why is neither of his parents assisting him with it or at least checking it over? Both our two oldest children could read before starting school. Even my 2 year old can count to 14 now as we count the steps each time we go upstairs. I wonder if now more parents will play a more active role in their children's education and not expect the School to bring them up for them.- 111 replies

Les and I are just messing about with each other. He's a good lad and likes a bit of banter too. Some people might get their panties in a bunch about it but Im glad you took it for what it was.

I did just now. We've touched on this before but to reiterate Biden is a slick Snake Oil Sales man, he puts on a very polished front but is just another career politician out to make himself as much money as possible. One thing that seems to be ignored is Hunters dealing in the Ukraine and his fathers involvement in it. Its a stinking pile of shit yet the media are giving the issue a wide berth, as they are with Joe's sexual abuse case. This is of course capped of with Joe's clear dementia, again studiously avoided being mentioned in the MSM. If anyone thinks Biden and the Democrats will do anything to help middle America then they are sorely mistake. Will the Dems try and target Cal and NY again with the hope of gaining the 3 million + illegals vote? In the 2016 Election it became clear the average man and woman have had enough of the divisive policies of the Dems and their empty slogan 'change'. Thank goodness the US has the Electoral Collage otherwise every election would be decided by brain dead Californian Liberals. In my mind Trump is still the lesser of two evils. I feel you've screwed up the Poll by having the option to choose a Turnip as thats clearly not going to be the case come Election time. I'll just assume that every Turnip vote is a vote for the Sex Offender Sleepy Joe. Edit; And lets not forget that no one of any note endorsed Biden, not till he was the only one left in the race. Not Obama, not the Clinton's or any other senior big hitters in the Party. Even the Democrats don't want Joe.

They must have big windows. If I fell for that I think Id be keeping it very quiet and putting it down to a lesson learned.

Thats right, I get taxed 50% of that up front, but get 12% back in the following May. So not nearly as rosy as it sounds. The UK sector is fecked. Its a race to the bottom out there. The influx of Eastern Europeans really has not helped either. You're right, he cure is definitely worse than the virus now.

Nope, nothing. A flight full of Oilfield trash on a cramped Dash 8 Plane. It seems social distancing does not apply to choppers or planes.
