  1. But we both know, and Im sure the Government are well aware that R wont be kept down with the new relaxed regulations. There is already reports that its failing. chasing that Herd Immunity.
  2. The flip side of this Andy is that if you have it without knowing then you are doing your best to spread it around, which may not be what the people around you want. Maybe be prepared that someone might be upset with you. How am I spreading it around? Im in isolation in a Hotel Room? I also asked the Taxi Driver where he wanted me to sit, he said the front as he's no fussed either. The Lads when Milling where no fussed as I asked them. I dont wash the shopping trolly before I use them as I dont care if I catch the Rona from others yet its other peoples responsibility to wash it after me if they dont want it. I keep my social distancing out of respect for others. I simply dont mind if I get it. Im certainly not passing it on to others who dont want it.
  3. Im often embarrassed coming back from Norway or Sweden (flight via Copenhagen) if there is a mix of Brits and Scandinavians on there. The British Oafishness, perma-drunk, reeking of Smoke and generally over weight and in a Tracksuit. One look at any UK high street and half the shops are boarded up and you have Smack Heads hanging around outside the Chemists waiting on their legal fix and Dole Bums just generally milling around. Its such a stark contrast walking around a ciry or town in Norway. Saying that in Oslo we had a City Center Hotel and the kids took great delight in watching the Hookers ply their trade. Finding a Jon, bringing him back to the van, Curtains close and 5 minutes later he's on his way again.
  4. Another Harris! Nice. I'm planning on buying a 5402NA for (hobby) Timber Framing if I can ever find a used one over here, most likely a makita 5143r.
  5. Without a Vaccine, Herd Immunity won't save us? So if no vaccine is found we're all doomed? Hardly, it kills such a small percentage of the population as it is. If nothing else maybe people will start taking better care of their own health from now on. The UK's general attitude to exercise and diet is shocking.
  6. Its 23 years old. Probably cost £100 new then.
  7. As Ive said, Im really not fussed about catching it. So I've basically stopped acting like it exists. Not once have I used sanitizer on Shopping trollys, and Im shopping every other day at least. Im popping into town each and every day. Taxis, flights, you name it. Still cant seem to bloody catch it though.
  8. Yes, it does make sense. But I thought the governments new relaxed guidelines have only came into effect this week? So is it not a little early to say that the guidelines we now have in effect will keep the guidelines below one? You yourself seem to indicate they may not? ''So what will follow? The government has said it will keep the R below 1 yet its was barely below that a few weeks back. Will they lockdown again or just bluster that this is the plan? '' And the plan is to relax the guidelines even further. If the Government is planning on stealth herd immunity then maybe it will be a case of 'woops' we've gone over R1 again. I dont know what a sensible time frame is either? But it makes sense to me to slowly get herd immunity at a rate that the hospitals can cope with the increasing influx of arrivals at the ICU, at least until such a time as a proven vaccine is in place. And if thats not gonna be the case then the UK is ahead of the game in regards to Herd Immunity. Even if we do get a viable Vaccine as soon as C-19 mutates again we're kinda back to the drawing board till the next vaccine is produced. Like the common Flu Jab.
  9. Maybe to maintain some sort of benchmark? Try keep it below 1, expect the population to follow the frankly easy to undertand guidelines and if it goes back above 1 then impose stricter guidelines again. But the guidelines are now relaxed. I guess the proof will be in the pudding. I dont know what the right thing to do is here. We simply cant weld people into their homes like in China. Personally I think we should get back on with it and try and ride it out. As long as there is bed spaces we can cope. But allow those in danger to make their own minds up if they return to a semi-normal life. Im certainly not trying to avoid getting it. Ive either had it or its eluding me.
  10. If the UK's lead scientists recommend Herd Immunity the Government cant come out with that because 3/4 of the UK will freak out. The amount of people that struggle to understand the latest governments guidelines is staggering, instead of trying to get their heads around it they make memes instead. So maybe the Governments going for a stealthy heard immunity? Might be the answer in the long run? Imagine if we all cower at home for a year and then find out there is no vaccine? A steady drip, drip, drip of Heard Immunity might not be a bad thing. But one things for sure, telling the British Public and worse, the media is not a good idea at all, we're simply to stupid to deal with the truth. Open the UK again, at at pace that does not swamp the Hospitals. Keep those who are susceptible to dying from C-19 locked away in cotton wool. Thats the Fat, the Old and those with proven underlying health issues that will bump folk off, ie Diabetes.
  11. Im pleasantly surprised you're taking this stance. I have to agree with you.

    Booze

Its an OK IPA I guess. just IPA'd out. Went to the Brew Dog Bar in Tokyo, the Manager was a Bar Tender in my local town about 14 years ago.

    Booze

Gone right off IPA's. When the fad for more and more and more Hops took off and we started seeing IPA's APA's NEPA's ImpPA's I started to lose interest. The last beer festival I went to, last summer, it was nothing but IPA's and Sours. I do like a dry hopped Larger now and again though. I brewed a Chocolate Maple Porter a few months ago, its really nice.
  14. Well yes, that could well be the issue. The 19 year old is very anemic as well. I'll get my to check on that, although she's normally on the ball with these sorts of things. Cheers.
  15. Interesting point regarding the coughing up of blood. My eldest has been coughing up blood as well. Her doctor says she has almost certainly had it. She’s still no right. At her Uni there has been active C-19 cases. My wife was barely able to breath for a period either, that lasted for weeks too, was worrying as I was stuck over in Norway at the time. My second oldest daughter has been fatigued for close to 8 weeks now. Dont know what’s up with that to be honest? My 2 year old and my 11 month old where down with something and had red spots associated with a viral infection. Will be good to know either way. I’m been my usual 100% fine as per usual. ?
  16. I could not be any more actively trying to get it. I wanna get it on my way over to Norway so if I do have it Im not giving it to my family and I can deal with it in a Hotel Room on my Tod and with the full back up on our nifty Private Medical Insurance. But there seems to be very few folk Ive come in contact with in the last 10 days who give a dam either. Did a Days Milling for a Lad, him and his buddies where all over me, as in helping turn the logs, wanting to set the Log Clamps etc. I let them crack on. Company Taxi up to Aberdeen, asked if I should sit in the back, not fussed, so the front it was. Onto a semi packed flight full of lads heading to Norway for 10 days quarantine not a care in the world (like myself) Im fit, Im healthy, Im very active, I dont have any health issues, Im not fat, I dont have Diabetes, Im not old (yet) I'm quite sure I'll be 100% fine. But I can understand why some of you older guys are quite scared, I get that. Most likely prudent given your ages etc.
  17. I hope Ive either had a genuine case of Corona or get it damn soon.
  18. Im just gonna do what I've been doing anyway. Work, then Home with the family. Although as I have a wee bit of space at my place my three siblings and their family's will come up to mine for the weekend, but we do that once a year anyway.
  19. I don think half the population see him as Gods gift. Perhaps a small but vocal number of his supporters do. I think half the supporters of Trump see him as a man with their best interests at heart (rightly or wrongly) at the very least they see him as the lesser of two evils when given the choice of Hillary and now Biden. Obama was a good orator but it could be argued he was a useless divisive President. Hillary is not a woman of the people and is purely a power and money hungry old whingebag. So the population of the US have been left with very little in options to whom they can chose from, yet you seem to be blaming the American people for this lack of choice. You may well wish they voted for Killary, or maybe this time Biden but thankfully that is not a decision that's for you to make. I know you would like to have democracy ultimately removed from the people and again it seems to have raised its head yet again. Im not defending Trump though, he is beyond defending now. It seems like with Trump what you see is what you get. But with Obama, Killary and Biden you get the Golden Smile, the Polished Man/Woman of the people persona, the speeches that tug at the hear strings of the good old American people that have been written and rewritten to perfection by a team of writers. Yet behind this facade we all know they are not acting for the good of the American people in any sense of the word. In fact Id suggest its the polar opposite. At least with Trump you know what you're getting as he'll go on an unedited rant with not a script writer in sight ,via twitter, and blurt it out. I doubt very much you could shut the US down like NZ has, even if they wanted to. You simply cannot enforce a China style Lock-Down. Lock-down is not going well here in the UK, is it? Many are ignoring it. There's now mass demonstrations here in the UK and also Germany about ending Lock-Down, so its not a US-Centric issue of Push-Back Is the US better off going the way of Sweden and just getting it over and done with and getting back on with is asap? Or should the US set a precedent and start to (further) ignore the Constitution? I dont think we'll have the answers for another few years, once we see the decimation this causes to the world economy, once we see what, if any, vaccines are available and once we see if C-19 is here to stay as a seasonal virus we simply have to live with. And lets not forget Trump tried to ban travel from China at the outset, but for purely political reasons had push-back from the Dems. We also had the WHO firmly in China's pocket blatantly giving out false infomation regarding C-19. So yes, Orange Man bad. But lets see where the UK, China, Germany and the US is in 12 and then 24 months and come back to see who actually got it right. I know you dont put much of an interest in GDP but Germany is already looking to fair far worse than the UK in the coming year or two. They are headed for a far worse recession that the UK. The repercussions for the EU project are huge. Interesting times indeed.
  20. Thats the kind of sexual discrimination I can live with. I agree, collectively we're too greedy and selfish. I just dont see this as a Capitalist versus Communist/Socialist issue.
